These people looked at our home 3 times in the last few days. It was down to 3 houses (ours one of them) - but they didn't pick ours. What a tough weekend. We really thought this might be it. The buyers just have too much to choose from still.
(yes, we've done everyting, staged it, painted it, lowered price, we are 15,000 below the market price based on what has sold since June). There is just still too many houses on the market. My realtor says if we NEED to sell, drop the price hughely, otherwise, be patient.
Of oourse, come March, all those sellers who were holding out this year for a better market, may also be putting their house up and we will have still more homes to deal with.
I thought we were going to have it sold this time, I feel like I'm in mourning right now. :(
To you home sellers: How often are your salespersons holding Open Houses? See if that can be increased so more look at it. Talk to your salesperson in regards to sprucing up a bit here or there using as little money as possible to make it more attractive to buyers. This one might hit a touchy spot for you, but remember that your agent has a good idea of what works to selling homes. Good luck to all of you on selling your houses!
It's not the paths you choose, it's what you do with those chosen paths.
Welcome to the team. Sorry we have to meet under these circumstances but together we will learn what we need to resolve our personal financial crisis. Its a really GREAT team of people and ideas.
My DH and I are both unemployed, its been a few months now and no one, and I mean no one, has been responding to our resumes. We both have BSIT degrees and struggling to pay down our school loans and c/c debt. Luckily we foresaw this economic crisis 2 years ago and sold our home, at no profit but no loss either. I thank the God for that every day. But I am still stuck in debt, just a different kind of debt. Doing all I can to pay the minimums to everyone but now I have no idea how to pay Novembers rent. I hope we see some serious CHANGE very soon in this coming election. I hope that something happens soon for all of you homebuyers. I don't want you to lose on your homes and I don't want the dream to be unrealistic for anyone. I'm really praying for some relief soon for all of us.
Learn from your hubby!!! Working out is the best way to handle this time away from family and to keep you busy. There are tons of ways to get in a good work out without costing a dime and your spirits will lift. Exercise is the best endorphin and that's something we can all use a little extra of!!! Take care and let us know if anything changes. Share your ideas as much as you can because I still have a ton to learn...and someday I do want to buy a home again...one can still dream.
The only thing you can change is yourself, but sometimes that changes everything.

Its been a rough year for me. My husband left his job only to find out the new job he had disappeared. Then I lost my job. We both got new jobs end of May. Mine here at home, his is out of state! So we are one of those with their home on the market with no lookers and no end in site. At our list price we are losing over 100,000. We've actually worked hard together and adopted a no buy moritorium-which has worked. We have no credit card debt and money in the bank.
But the separation and life in limbo is really getting old.
Of course, I turned to eating - he turned to workingout. He lost 15 lbs, I gained 20!
So now I am trying SP. Lost a few pounds so far. Staying positive, although lonely.
