Hello All. It took me SO long to find you. I have been a member, although not consistent until 2011, since December 15, 2008. I have been on other sites, including Weight Watchers and Calorie King. But I like all the features of SP the best. So, i am a lifetime member and even when i maintain my goal weight, i will still do everything on this site.

Hello all - this is my first post to my class page. I started on December 19, 2008 and have lost 16 pounds so far. I didn't have good week last week and am having trouble getting the scale moving again. I have been at the same weight for the past three weeks. I'm going to change up my workout routine starting this week. A new exercise plan, along with a renewed commitment to eating well, should get me right back on track!

Hey yall! My name is Cyndie and I'm 19, a college student, and currently living in Brazil (it's summer here, yay!)

Before joining Spark I lost about 10 pounds (from Nov. 22- Dec. 18), and after that amount of time I usually lose interest in losing weight, so I decided to join Spark to stay motivated! :-)

Hello, my name is Kaye, I have struggled with my weight all my life, I actually weighed the most in college, of coarse, and then lost 50# after my one and only pregnancy. I have kept most of the weight off but about 20-30#. Then started back counting calories and did lose all but these pesty 14#. So here I am, and now the worse problems I encounter are the age 50's and my job now requires me to sit most of the days that I work...so say helloooo...to big butt!! emoticon I am excited about this websie -- I have been moving all over the place here and it just goes on forever and I learn new things each time I log in. emoticon

Hi everyone,

I'm a little late in joining this discussion, but here goes. I am almost 57 and have 39 pounds to lose. My lowest weight was 114 about 15 years ago, and I have been gaining and losing weight ever since. I had knee replacement surgery that in't go so well 10 years ago and that sidelined me from a more active lifestyle for several years, and then I just got into the lazy lifestyle - sitting and knitting. I LOVE knitting. I have a yarn shop and that allows me to knit without feeling guilty. I plan to lose at least 20 pounds by April as my son is getting married. I want to look just chubby not fat in the photos. good luck everyone with their goals. Happy holidays!

Hello all. I am a new dieter for the sake of losing weight. I bought a scale from an eBay seller yesterday so I'll have an accurate gauge of where I am once it is delivered.

Honestly I am not planning on doing this SP thing super hardcore from the start. It is the holidays and I do like to drink and eat. I will have alcohol, holiday meals with fat and carbs, etc. I am trying to be more conscious in my caloric intake, and not indulge in every meal. I am also attempting to get more consistent with my activity. I know for myself I will walk away from this program if I went hardcore from the start.

My husband and I are kicking out butts with a 2 week self-imposed boot camp and conscious eating program early in the year. What I am doing now is a precursor to that.

So for x-mas week... couch to 5k, good fiber intake, plenty of water, yoga, push ups and pilates. The push ups, pilates, and water are pretty standard for my daily routine, the fiber, running, and yoga are a little more inconsistent.

I have finished my first full SP week. Like many of you, I have a history of losing and gaining back. I am looking for a different life style and this site seems to have a lot of what I am looking for. I am primarily interested in developing a supportive community to lose weight--a lot of weight. I am also looking for inspiration to begin exercising--something I have always had an aversion to. I need both of these things in my life right now. I am also connected to Inside Out Weight Loss a free podcast that addresses weight loss through motivation rather than a specific diet plan.

HI! My name is Sandy. I'm 34 an want to lose at least 38 pounds. I'm 5' 3" and at an all time high of 173. I know if I don't do something I'll be 200 before I now it. Anyway, I've been blaming medication for the slow weight creeping on over the last 8 years. But I'm the one that eats too much, binges at night, and pretty much never exercises. Hello. I am trying Spark because I have a hell of a time sticking to what I start. I am basically trying to initiate a complete life change. I am stuck in a lazy hole. I use to be active and healthy. I am starting to work out and diet. I am also working on my spiritual side. I am also trying to start reading again and use my mind as all I seem to do anymore is watch TV. Alot of these problems started when I got migraine headaches 5 years ago. They are exercise induced and make it difficult to work out. The drugs cause weight gain and make me overly tired and all of this makes me depressed and want to do less. I am working to find different drugs, but I have taken alot and these are the only ones that work. Anyway, no more excuses. I am making a change. I just need help sticking to it.

I gained about 30 pounds after my twins were born ALMOST 8 YEARS AGO and I haven't been able to lose the weight since. I am always searching for the thing that's finally going to help me reach my goals... I think I've tried everything. My biggest problem is time... Hey y'all! I am 29 and live in south Alabama. I've never been married, and have no kids (yet, and yet)... just a handful of "not babies" that I love like my own until its my turn.

My weight has always been on my mind for as long as I can remember. I'm not obese by any means, but teetering on the edge of having and "unhealthy" BMI. Having a small frame (and lets face it, living at the beach) makes this unacceptable to me. I have no major health problems just a plethora of excuses and a REALLY unforgiving metabolism.

I'm about at my peak weight now, of course I've been here a few times before. I'd love to lose 15-20 lbs, as much of this as I can (in a healthy way) by my dreaded upcoming birthday-- the big 3-0!!!

Really looking forward to meeting all of you and hopefully making some new friends!!

Hi, I'm Michelle! I'm 33 and live in Liberty, Mo., with my boyfriend Chris. I was diagnosed with diabetes several years ago. It is still very uncontrolled...probably because I seem to lack self-control. I have been having a lot of nausea and vomitting after meals lately. My doctor has referred me to a gastroenterologist and ordered a scope. She thinks I have gastroparesis from the uncontrolled diabetes.

I am restarting at 209.8 after losing 96.2 pounds from my highest weight of 306. I have 74.8 pounds to reach my goal of 135.

I hope to reach that goal in 2009 and run my first Boilermaker in my boyfriend's hometown of Utica, N.Y.

Hi All. My name is Suzanne. I am 38 years old (closer to 39 since I have a Feb birthday), married for less than a year. I just rejoined SparkPeople after being a member for a while a few years back.
My weight this year is the highest it's ever been, and I really need to get in under control. All told, I have about 75-80 pounds to lose.

Hello, I am a 23yr old sahm. I have 2 boys an 18 month old and a 2 month old, needless to say I'm busy a lot. I had a realization a week ago that I have an eating disorder, so here I am trying to make changes and start fresh. I have 50 pounds to lose to be at the weight I was when I met my husband and 70 to be at my lowest weight. I really just want to get ahold of my life and stop leaning on sweets to make things better, as well as look darn good for my hubby. It sucks being the chubby wife at the office parties. I now weight 190, was 245 at my highest and I WILL be 150 by the end of next year, no more making excuses. Hi my name is Glo, I'm 43 and have about 60 pounds to loose. I live in western Arizona and work night shift. I lost 70 pounds over the last year with running and a healthy diet, but a recent foot injury had me sidelined for the last two months. Doc says I can't run for at least 6 months, maybe longer. Hi. Im from southwest oklahoma. Im here to lost between 20-30 pounds!! =) I just had a baby in march and during my pregnancy somehow i gained over 70 pounds!! I ended up having a 10 pound baby which nobody including my dr expected. After the birth of my son i managed to drop pretty much most of the weight and now i just want to lose the rest of the baby fat and what i had gained before pregnancy also. I really need to work on self discipline and finding time to actually manage my new diet. I appreciate all the advice so far and look forward to a new life here! emoticon emoticon

My name is Jackie and I'm 29 years old from northern Ohio. I'm married with a 5 year old son. I have borderline high blood pressure, and feel I need to lose about 100 lbs to be a healthy weight, despite that the recommendation is a loss of 160lbs. My husband and I are in this together currently, which is wonderful. Having the support is truly important.

Hi I'm Sam, I'm from Southern Cali. and I'm on here to lose about 25 lbs. I have always been a chubby kid but I've usually been pretty healthy..or so I thought. I come from a large family and we have no healthy eating habits what-so-ever [[unless you count not starving ourselves]]. This not only is going to be a weightloss journey..but also a journey towards an active and healthy lifestyle and hopefully one for my family as well. Hi! I'm Ginger and I'm a West Texas girl. I lost all of my weight and then some after baby #3 in 2005, but have gained back about 20 pounds in the last 6 months. I'll say it's because of the medical issues I've had this year but deep down I know it's just because I got lazy and hungry...a BAD combo for this chick. Anyway, I look forward to seeing everyone's progress and I'll keep you on track if you keep me on track!

Hi, I'm Meghan. I'm 22, and am currently completing my second degree. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in English, and am 7 months away from my Bachelor of Education degree, as an Elementary School teacher.
I have been fighting the numbers on the scale now for about 3 and a half years. When I started university, I was playing varsity soccer and stayed at my goal weight. Then, I got a boyfriend (we're no longer together) and got too comfortable in my life and packed on the pounds. I'm VERY athletic still, I swim a lot, run, and play baseball competatively (even right now, in the snow!).
I am looking to lose approximately 35 pounds, or to get under the 160lb mark.
I am signing up for a sprint triathlon at my university that is on March 8, 2009. My goal for that, is to just complete it!

Hi! My name is Alyssa and I'm a sophmore in college (haha that would be the main reason for my weight gain) I went from being a 2 sport athlete and doing work outs year round, but when 3 elbow surgeries left me sidelinded and unable to play sports in college I found my self packing on some pounds! I didn't quite reach the Freshman 15 but I did notice some extra weight I wasn't use to. So this year I'm making a goal to put a twist on things and instead of gaining weight I'm hoping to lose about seventeen pounds in the next year. I'm calling it the Sophomore Seventeen! Hopefully with everybodys help we can all support eachother in reaching our goals!

Hello everyone, my name is Dru. I am 35, happily married (hence the weight gain - ha, ha), work as a guidance counselor, and coach basketball. I have about 50 lbs. to lose. Gone are the days of eating anything I want and never passing 125 pounds. I need to find a healthy lifestyle with a healthy weight to compliment that. Hi, my name is Eddy. I've been trying really hard to lose weight for a while now. I joined curves and weight watchers and I've lost and regained the same 8 pound about 3 times in the last 6 months! I'm hoping this might be the missing link - a support system and a place to keep track of my process. I've been using the blog space on my page to "talk things out" with myself... which has felt really good today. My goal is to lose 44 lbs.

Hi all! My name is Marisa. I am 25 yo, and weigh around 420. although every body thinks i'm lieing because i look around 300 I really am that heavy. I found out i have PCOS when we started trying to have a baby. The hormones they started me on made life a living hell so I am trying to lead a healthier life and be active for myself my family and my future children. Today (well starting with dinner) is my first day. I know ill cheat a few times but i'm in it for the long haul!

Hi! I live in TN and I have two boys: 12 and 7. I am a returning college student and graduating this May. I start student teaching in January.

I'm 29, living in Canada and trying to lose about 40 pounds - lost 20 already since August. I gained about 50 + because I had hypothyroidism, which now seems to be under control. I mainly use Wii Fit and find that to be a great motivator!

Hello! My name is Nikki and I'm 27 years old and a sahm and a full time student online with The University of Phoenix. I orginally joined this site in January 2008. I successfully lost 15lbs and was close to my goal weight when in late March I found out that I was pregnant again, LOL!

So, here I am again. I had my 3rd girl December 5, 2008. I am still on my 6 week postpartum rest period, so I can't excersize just yet, but I plan to start once I get the okay from the doctor. In the mean time, I'm just trying to get back into the habit of recording my daily food intake (which is adjusted as I am breastfeeding), and eating healthy. I reset all of my goals today (12-14-08), so I am going to try getting used to a daily calorie intake maximum, and look at the requirements for excersizing (which I will be able to start mid January).

I look forward to meeting new people and making some friends as we share this journey together! :)

My name is Sonja, and I too am 39 (40 arrives this August). I am happily married for 5 years this New Year's Eve, and I have a 19 yr-old son, along w/ 3 step-sons (24, 19 & 16). I reached my all-time highest weight last year (272), and though I got down to 195lbs. a few months ago, I now find myself back at 215. I'm thankful that I've maintained a majority of my weight loss, but I'm definitely ready to finish this off and finally reach my goal! I work as a night shift RN on an ortho unit, where we do three 12-hr shifts a week. Flipping back/forth between days & nights has it's own issues, but my major malfunction is being consistent w/ exercise! I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you, and the support & motivation that we'll give to each other!

Hi My name is Michelle and I'm still getting over the shock of turning 30 two weeks ago. I've always gone up and down a little bit with my weight, but I was laid off three months ago, and about twenty extra pounds crept on. Hey! I am 23 years old and a single mom of a handsome 3 year old son. I work full time and i go to school on the side. So needless to say, im always busy. I'm trying to find ways to make healthy meals for my son and I. Its just so hard to find the time and energy. My main problems are cravings and time for exercise. My job has me sitting at a desk all day so i dont get any physical activity there. i am open to any suggestions or friends to help keep me motiviated. its so much easier when u know someone is going through all of it with you

I stepped on the scale recently and couldn't believe that I am almost 200 lbs. again (end of pregnancy was the last time I was that high). I refuse to be this big. I'm sick of it. I'm ready to be healthy again and get back in shape. I may not ever be a size 5 again but I just want to be happy with myself.
