The problem with motivation is that it is almost entirely a mental game...you have to be really good at psyching yourself out.
There is no easy way to learn how to do that but there are things you can do to "encourage" your brain to help you do it. I've found that when I start feeling really unmotivated if I can make myself *do* something then I can usually bully myself into getting where I need to go. Even if it's something silly and small like emptying the dish washer--so long as it involves some physical act of "doing" instead of just "sitting" it helps. I am a shameless abuser of that positive little biochemical boost you get when you finish/ accomplish something.
So the answer to your question about staying motivated is "mind games".
