I agree -- not a bore at all! Sad to hear though. I am fortunate that no one ever thought (or told me they thought so!) that I was making it up. They just can't ever find anything wrong. Or the things they did find (herniated disc) normally resolve over time and with proper treatment, but for me they don't. My condolences on the loss of your husband -- the stress of grieving certainly doesn't help with fibro, does it? Losing my mom sure set mine into overdrive.
Don't worry about boring us... I think a lot of our stories are quite similar to yours. "Growing pains," "all in your head," "nerves," "you're just lazy," I've heard these kinds of comments all my life. I'm going on 62 and was only diagnosed with fibromyalgia three years ago. Funny, but some people still think I'm just nuts! Anyway, welcome to the team!

Hi everyone. I'm still exploring this awesome site! I'm 53 yrs. old, a widow of 3 yrs. I have 2 daughter's, who've given me 6 beautiful grandchildren! I have been disabled for 7 yrs. I believe I've had FMS since childhood, or at least by 20. I remember telling my elementary teacher that I hurt, & her response was "Oh, it's just growing pains". In my 20's I would tell the Dr. I hurt all over. After all diagnostic tests didn't show anything, the Dr. said "it's all in head, or, it's psychological". Oh me. I won't bore you with my woe's anymore. I know you all have your own stories too. I look forward to getting to know everyone.
