I'm here - could we have arrived (a week ago today) at a worse time?!* I so feel for the many who are still without power a week later in this heat. For those of you who racked up those fitness minutes last week even in this oppressive heat - you are all my SHEros and HEros!

In a hotel waiting on your household to arrive by Mayflower on Friday and then I'll be unpacking but ready to move it!

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, favorite cocktail in one hand - strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming holy sh*t - WHAT A RIDE!

I'm looking forward to meeting you. I've lived here about half of my life, and I commute by bicycle every day from Bethesda, Maryland to my job in downtown D.C. I would love to share information with you, and I'd love to hear more about training a therapy dog.

Excellence is the result of caring more than others think wise, risking more than others think safe, dreaming more than others think practical, and expecting more than others think possible.

You will love it here!

One of the best things about DC is that it's such a great walking city. I try to walk around and do tourist stuff at least once a month, even though I've lived here 7 years. You can put in a few miles just breezing around the National Mall or up and down the Mount Everest of a hill that is the National Zoo.

Welcome.

I have a house.
I'm looking at triathlon clubs, bike clubs etc.
Gyms (already belong to LA Fitness).

I want to be ready to hit the ground running!

HOPING to do the Inaugural Nike DC 1/2 Marathon in the spring of 2013 but my daughter's college graduation and commissioning ceremony may conflict when they release the dates.

All suggestions are welcome!

Welcome to DC/MD/VA......
My family moved here last August. I am originally from Michigan and had been living in GA.

Lots to do here. Plenty of active people to walk and talk with and get to know.

I love Zumba, Jazzercise, and walking.

July will be here before you know it!!!!!!!!

I AM DOING THIS!!!!! It's about Mindfulness and PROGRESS, not perfection. Being aware, at every moment, of what my goal is and how the current action is helping me reach that goal.....that is the key to success.

We are a military family and my husband will be working at Ft. McNair (although we are USMC). We have an address in Silver Spring and now the countdown begins until we move there on July 16. I know....seems like a long time right?

Looking to get to know folks in advance and ready to hit it! We belong to LA Fitness and there are two in Silver Spring. I love zumba, walking, Beachbody anything and Sparkpeople! We also have a black lab being trained as a therapy dog and I spend a lot of time with Maggie.
