to the team. I've found out that the more involved I am on Spark, the more successful I was/am.
I have four kids ages 13 to 18, two girls and two boys. The girls are the oldest and they were relatively easy. My boys are a little "more challenging." It seems like they get really silly and "over the top" and then we have to get strict to settle them down. Nothing major, just irritating.
Hang in there. Boys are sweet. No use worrying, just go with the flow. Your son is at a good age to concentrate a bit more time on you! Good luck with your health venture!
Thanks for the tips.

Take this first week to familiarize yourself with the tools here. Once you get used to using them, it becomes easier to use them even when you are busy. Personally, I spent my first week learning to use the tools, and just tracking everything I was already eating and doing for exercise. It gave me a baseline to work from. It also gave me a chance to really decide what my goals were, and how to get there.
This site can only provide the support and the tools to reach these goals. You need to put the hard work in. Personally, I end up kicking my own butt every day. Feel free to check out my blogs to see how I kick my butt out the door to get my fitness in. I can tell you, once I am finished with my exercise for the day, I feel great. No more I should do this and I should do that. Instead, I feel accomplished, and able to relax and enjoy the rest of my day.

You can not change yesterday - it's done.
You can only dream of tomorrow.
The only day you can change is today.
What are you going to do today to reach your goals of tomorrow?
It's supposed to be hard. If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard is what makes it GREAT

Just wanted to stop in and introduce myself. My name is Colleen and I have an almost 12-year old. He'll be 12 in April and has been in middle school since September. The teen years scare me! Thought this team might help guide me through them with support from others going through it too!
I've been around Spark for a while but just started using it to its fullest potential last year around this time. It's made a huge difference. I'm now trying to involve myself with some of the more community aspects and make some new friends who understand the healthy living journey I'm trying to implement for myself and my family.
