I've been doing this on-again-off-again for 7 years. I was 29 when I first joined and for my 30th birthday, that June, I wanted to be trim enough to sport a bikini with confidence. Well, that didn't happen. I'm not 36, will be 37 this June and I have a renewed drive to get there. After trying MANY MANY different exercise programs, I finally realized the only thing I truly enjoy and might stick with consistently is walking. I really enjoy walks in the evenings with hubby.....sometimes with kids and dogs, too. That's a special bonding time. We've even walked when it was misting out and we got home soaked but it felt really neat at the same time. Of course, we had to jump in a hot shower when we got back. hahaha
I've lost 4lbs in a little over 2 weeks since re-committing this time. I want to lose another 20 by the 4th of July.
I half-heartedly did Spark People once before (for about a week), but am determined to give it a real shot this time! I also have a 6 1/2 year old, along with a 2 1/2 year old and 8 year old twins.
I also have a goal of slimming down by summer. In my case, we'll be attending my husband's 20 year reunion, which happens to be in Southern California - which means plenty of beach time! We are in Seattle now, so I'm desperately missing the sun and don't want there to be any excuse for me not to enjoy every minute of it!
Anyhow - Good luck to you! Hope we can both stay on track!

Hey guys! I'm Heather, a 32 year old wife, mommy and teacher. My husband Kyle and I have been married for almost 10 years and have the most perfect 6 1/2 year old imaginable. All moms should think that, but she is pretty special--smart (too smart, really), kind, well-mannered and gorgeous on top of that. She is in 1st grade, and I'm having to learn to separate my mommy self from my teacher self. We live on a non working farm just outside of Nashville. The land has been in his family for 200+ years, and we built our dream house there a couple of years ago. We'll never leave!
This is my second go at spark people. I lost 30 pounds in 2007 using the program, but let life happen and gained it all back plus some. A couple of weeks in, and I'm down 8 lbs. I know how to do this, I just have to do it. I would love to be at goal or close by this summer when my husband and I take a trip for our anniversary.
