Hello. I joined this group last year and have been slacking far too long. I'm back and hoping to find support and encouragement so I can be held accountable and help others reach their goals. I have two daughters (ages 9 and almost 11) and a two year old son at home. My oldest is 19 and lives on his own.
I want to set a good example for my daughters by eating healthfully, exercising, getting my cholesterol and back pain under control, and show them how to make healthy eating a lifestyle, not a dieting obsession. In our society there is so much pressure to conform to a perfect image and that is NOT the message I want to send my kids. So I'm hoping that this group will be a good way to network with other parents that are dealing with the same types of issues; raising kids and getting healthy.
