I actually joined this team a few weeks ago but got busy and did not get back to really get acquainted. I am back now. I just read the Amazing Race and I am hooked. The exercised is going to be a big challenge as I am trying to work with plantar fasciitis so can't do much walking and recovering from broken arm so doing things carefully. But I will count my PT exercises as exercise. So much to do so little time. Off to start!

Paula, my MIL's hobby was genealogy!!! There are about four huge boxes in our storage locker. You are so right about all of this! It is kind of a nightmare to me... I am getting through a lot of it but I still have to decide where the best place is for all that genealogy. And all those pictures that have to be passed down. LOL on us huh? Let's just keep smiling!

Christine....I can really identify with things inherited from relative's estates. We've just about handled the bulk of items from DH's parents....I'm now contemplating settling my Mom's estate when that time comes....hopefully not anytime soon...but she is 86 years old. And she has saved a LOT of stuff. Family stuff, genealogy records she's researched for multiple families -- her two parents, DH's two parents, photo albums....family heirlooms I think about it a lot when I wake up at 3 a.m. some mornings. We just about get our "stuff' in control...then we have to deal with what our relatives have saved. Kind of makes me think really hard about what I'm saving and if it will mean anything to my kids when i'm gone.

Hi Jackie! I agree! It is starting to come together, but since I used to have the other neighborhood gals ask me how did I keep my house so clean.... it has been very difficult to live in what I think of as CHAOS. "Can't have anybody over syndrome".LOL.

Thanks for the welcome. I am only prepared for my close friends right now. I inherited *all* of my MIL's photos and all the things that didn't sell at the estate sale plus more... emoticon
On top of that I also have all the stuff from my mom when she went into a home.Lord give me strength, I am still working on this. I am scanning the photos, BUT they are filling an entire armoire in the meantime. I work every day for at least 15 minutes.

Chris -- Funny! I've found that to be true for myself as well...and sometimes it is hard to figure out which comes first -- the clean house or the healthy eating and exercise. emoticon

Drop in on any of the topics! I've found it helps me a lot of state some plans for the day (What Can I do Today? -- I think I'm remembering that title right). I also find that I take care of Me better when I'm on Spark People.

I only seem to take care of me when Iím on Sparkpeople. Was looking for a team to help me stay accountable and focused and came across this one. It just seems like when eating is out of control the mess in the house is out of control. Or it could be the other way around. Either way they seem to go hand in hand. Hey there,

I've been sparking about a month this go round. Sparked for a few months months 4 years ago & lost 20 of the 30 pounds I wanted to lose. Life happened, I stopped Sparking and have gained half of it back so here I am again with 20+ lbs to lose.

Need to work on both organization and fitness so this may be the team for me.

Also I'm looking forward to a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Alaska in June that I want to be really fit for.

If I am not for myself, who is for me?
If I am only for myself, what am I?
And if not now, when?

Hi I'm Kristina. I've been with spark for a while, but just recently getting back serious about it. Started tracking what I eat and drink and exercise. I don't exercise much yet, but I'm wanting a step counter and I'm getting one...except it's from a kickstarter campaign and I don't know when I will actually being receiving it. I'm also trying to decrease debt and get rid of the CLUTTER.

I'm a...borderline? hoarder. Possibly all hoarder. Though not a cat hoarder, certainly. I have 5, but they are healthy and happy and that's not just my opinion. The elderly cat isn't as healthy as he used to be but that's life, I guess.

My clutter is everywhere. A lot of it has dirt and filth as well, which is why flylady is also on my new list of things to do. I downloaded the cozi app she recommended and the to-do list setup works really well for me.

My goals are: no clutter, no debt, everything within a day of perfectly clean (with effort) and about 15 lbs lower than I am now.

Hi, I'm Ruth-Ann and just got back to SP after a busy summer/autumn. I've been a sparkmember for 2 yrs now!

I need the extra support to stay on my low-carb diet due to my diabetes. Also, we have a local teenager who will be rooming with us for the rest of this school year starting the first week of January, so I need to clean out, declutter, compact and condense a whole room which has been collecting "junk" (stuff that we just didn't have a place for) ever since my son graduated from college and moved down south a year ago!

Hi, I'm Carrie. I'm a 32 year old single mother and graduate student. I have a wonderful 8 year old son for whom I tend to serve as team mom for his baseball and football teams. It pains me that I can never host spaghetti dinners (I have the CHAOS- can't have anyone over syndrome) and I can't ever participate in the end of the year Parents-vs- Kids games because I struggle with asthma and being out of shape. I think this group might be good for helping me with both.

Hello...love the concept of the Fit & Organized team. This is so doable if I become intentional about it. I have signed up AGAIN, under a different username (of course), so I can get motivated, stay motivated and become healthy mentally, physically and emotionally...and now I can add organized. Love it.

Hello. I was faithful to sparks several years ago but let life get in the way and dropped out. I started again this past December and have been making progress. I am working on my fitness but I struggle with clutter. I am hoping I can gain support and organizational skills as I lose weight.

Hello my name is Amanda and I'm starting over again rather than giving up. I'm looking forward to being able to lose weight as well as have my home lose weight. I am the mother of three wonderful boys (2 live with me) and all of their clutter. I think that some of my weight issues is that I have never changed my surroundings to suit what I want in life.... so here goes nothing and I will change myself and my home.

Hello, My name is LeeAnn and I am packing to move. Since we are downsizing we have to get rid of A LOT of stuff. We are going from a 2200sq ft house to a 1200 sq ft apartment.

I need some help and advice on what to keep and what to get rid of. EVERY thing has a memory or some one gave it to me, or it could be useful some day....

I want to know how do I determined what is something that is Really sentimental or just some one gave me whom I loved and cared for. I need help separating my feelings for this stuff.

I keep telling my self, "It is just a________, it doesn't mean I don't love my (family or friend.)"

Hi - I'm Viola. Soon to be 53 and decided with all the life changes going on in my home (recently empty-nester, recently retired hubby, recent married son, etc.) it's time to focus on ME for a change - well.... mine & my husbands health too.
Looking forward to getting fit, AND looking forward to getting some organization done too!
