Welcome to SP! I would suggest talking to your doctor about what exercises he recommends if you're having those issues. Of course, doing some of the yoga moves that involve stretching your back might help if it's a nerve or muscle issue. And whatever activities you do try, just pay attention to how you feel. If it feels like it is making your injury worse, stop doing it until you're better.
