I'm Tim and have been meaning to come in and introduce myself since I joined last week, and just now getting around to it.
I'm from a small town in Virginia along the Blue Ridge Mountains called Afton, but now live near Salisbury, Maryland. I've been an O's fan since I knew what a baseball was. I've been able to attend a few games thru the years. My first game was with the church group and we saw the California Angels and that was at Memorial Stadium. What a game that was. Nolan Ryan was pitching for the Angels and Jim Palmer for the O's.
I haven't been able to go to a game in Baltimore in a few years. Cal Ripken was playing the last time I went. Hope to change that this year.
Here in Salisbury, we have the Delmarva Shorebirds who are an affiliate of the O's, so I go watch them when I can.
I'm looking forward to a good year in baseball this year, and really hoping the O's turn some runs and win a championship. It's been a long time in the waiting.
You need to set your goals and know where you want to go. It's just as important that you never forget where you started and where you come from.
