It's definately summer in the LV Valley, and I can feel the extra weight on me all the more. I've been a member of SparkPeople for several years and a resident of Las Vegas for less than three. I originally joined as a way to teach my 530lb brother how to take better care of himself. It worked well for the first year, he lost 115lbs easily just by following the spark menus and walking every day.
I'm back now, desperate for help with my own weight problems. I know 20lbs doesn't seem all that hard compared to some goals, but I have had no success over the past 6 months reducing it. This has never been so hard before. So, I'm reaching out to my community, just as I taught my brother to do, asking for a hand.
A little more about me, I'm an officer in the Army Reserve. Maintaining my weight is not just a requirement...it's essential to my ability to lead my troops. I cannot stand in front of them and expect them to follow a fat girl who can't even dicipline herself...let alone teach others to do so. I've long felt pride in my ability to maintain my weight and physical fitness despite huge challenges, but this time...I can't seem to "get it together." So my fellow sparks of vegas...can you help me?
