Welcome, Rochelle! I've found lots of support on this site and I know you will as well!
Congrats on your MF start!

I got held up in a meeting tonight and missed getting my last meal on time. I've been doing every 2 hours. I went 4 hours tonight. Got home and realized I had extra meals in my bag. Oh well, I survived and got all my meals in.

Hope everyone has a great OP night!

Hello everyone,
My name is Rochelle. I have been on sparkepeople for several years and had lost just under 100 lbs using the site and working out every day. I also suffer from a number of health issues and being on medication has destroyed my weight loss efforts. Over the course of the last year I gained back nearly all of the weight I had lost. The last time I used portion control and no real change to my diet and a lot of exercise, this time I plan on using Medifast and moderate exercise. I have used a number of other diet protocols and had mixed success so I am looking forward to seeing results with Medifast. I find that what I am lacking most isn't willpower or lack of no how but is a lack of support. I look forward to meeting everyone and participating regularly.

Welcome Monica!

So good to have you here! emoticon
Join us on the January daily post above this one for daily discussions, and ask away too! emoticon

Any diet is hard, but we can do this, this particular diet really is encouraging when you see such faster results. Support is important too, don't get discourage and focus on the amount you have to lose, just focus on your successes. Once I am to my goal healthy weight, I will have lost over 100 pounds total from my highest weight. I had lost some through WW but health problems got in the way, and this program is helping me finish my goal and I am loving it. :)

We can do it! emoticon

Hello,

I am new on SparkPeople and started Medifast over 2 weeks ago. I have already lost 9lbs and am looking to lose 100 more. So far so good... some slip-ups have been had emoticon mostly due to the holidays, but I am chugging along as even though I have just started, this is the first time in years that I am making even this much process.

I wanted to join in on the Medifast forums as I saw they were still somewhat active 2 weeks ago (albeit, very unhappy with new changes), but I just tried to check in today and was not able to log in. In any case, I am happy to see this is an active team and look forward to meeting you folks.

This is NOT an easy program to go through alone... so having folks going through the same journey is helpful. Best of luck to everyone!

-Monica emoticon

I'm starting an exercise plan tomorrow so I'll let you know. :) I'm starting slow and plan on 3 days a week walking for 20-30 min and small weight/strength training for 2 days a week.

When I started exercising early into my diet I would stall or gain a few ounces. So I am expecting this at first, but I'm sure I'll see a loss and some toning if I stay on points.

Hi Barb! Nice to meet you! Yay for you on losing all your weight! emoticon

That is inspiring, and it gives me a lot of hope I can do this too. :) I'm half way to my goal right now, and I've been pretty good sticking to it, but some days I wish I could eat something I know I shouldnt, or at least see a bigger change on the scale. It's been going slow for me the last month, and so some days I just feel like I'm doing something wrong, but I know I'm following it to a T, and so all I can do is hang tight and realize my body might take longer to lose than others. I have hypothyroidism and type 2 diabetes, so with the insulin resistance and thyroid fighting me, I'm actually happy how far I have come. :)

I think I'm worried about maintaining too, but I'll focus on the now, and eventually get there. Your advice will be priceless too! emoticon

Hello there girls. I found this group by accident, after looking at the old Medifast site. My name is Barb and I live in Michigan. I lost 56 pounds using Medifast from January 2014 until July. I have been maintaining within 2-3 pounds since then, and it is a struggle, but so worth it. I love reading other people's posts, and get inspiration and ideas from others. I would love to get to know some of you better, and support you on this journey!

Welcome Lastgoaround, I'm sure you will do great with the plan. I have my favorite foods that are a mainstay. I found out right off the bat that I didn't like their eggs but they have plenty of foods to choose from. Everyone has different tastes and some things i didn't like in the beginning I like now but never the eggs. Ha! Good luck and let us know how you are doing.

Hi all,

Molly, your name sounds familiar from the MF site. I'm new here too after Medifast ruined the forums. I really like it here but I'm still learning. I am so sorry for your loss and I hope in time that your pain will subside. We are all here to support and I hope we start picking up a few more.

I am on my 3rd day and it has been pretty easy. I guess I was just sick of eating junk. I am also on my 2nd day of a fitbit challenge with some friends. It hasn't been easy but I got my 10,000 steps in. If they weren't pushing me along I probably wouldn't have made it.

Have a great week and stay strong girls,

Cathy

Hi all! I don't think I've introduced myself yet. I'm Molly, and I started Medifast on Jan. 4, 2014, at 200 lbs.. I lost 63 lbs by Sept. 5 and was 2 lbs. from my goal of 135 lbs. when I found out I was pregnant. Unfortunately, I later lost the baby, and I have been having a hard time getting back on plan. I am restarting the 5&1 today at 153.2 (eeeek!!). So my goal is now 18.2.

I'm not super familiar with the SP website yet, but I hope to figure it out to contribute here. :)

Hi everyone!

My name is V and I'm new to this forum but I've been on medifast for almost 3 months now (started Oct 9). As of yesterday I have lost 31 pounds! I'm half way to my goal and it feels great to be on this journey. I'm learning what foods I like and do not like on medifast, and doing well on my lean and green meals too.

I'm proud to say since I started I have not cheated once. Let me tell you how hard that has been because since I have started Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas all came after, and those are the holidays I love most to eat wonderful meals, and of course chocolate most of all!😉 It has been so hard. I bake a lot for family and friends, it's my passion to create yummy meals and treats, and this year it's been so hard not to lick, taste test, etc. my way through it all. But I did it! I'm determined to see this through.

I lost 86 pounds 7 years ago on WW. I planned on losing 30 more but my health went down hill after that, and I ended up bed ridden for a long time. Dr.s gave me meds that caused me to gain 32 pounds back, but I was so thankful I never gained more back then that. I have type 2 diabetes (have for 15 years) and hypothyroidism, ehlos danlos syndrome, osteoarthritis, spinal stenosis, plus all sorts of not so fun issues that cause me to be in pain every day. I need to have back surgery to stabilize my spine, but I wanted to be at a healthy weight before I bit that bullet. I tried doing WW again but wasn't getting anywhere, so I decided to try MF and I think my body loves this program, even my blood sugar levels have been great, no low or high spikes, no jitters, etc. it's been great.

Anyway, I'm excited to be here, and to get support, ideas, and build friendships too. 😊

I've been researching MF online today so am excited there is a group on SparksPeople. Has anyone done the MF online program? There is no center in my area so the site suggested ordering online.

I'm anxious to get started with MF!

Hi all, I was with Medifast last year but gained my weight back. I really loved the support that I had on their website but they changed it and it is too hard to communicate on it now. I'm new to this website so it will take me some time to get used to it. I probably won't get serious about my diet until after Christmas but I wanted to get with a team and get my page started. Looking forward to meeting everyone and finding a support systems.

Hello all!

I tried Medifast a few years ago and lost about 22 pounds in a month. It helped initiate my awareness to eat better and exercise, I lost even more on my own. I kept the weight off until this year and had a hysterectomy in August. My metabolism has come to a screeching halt, so hopefully this will jump start it. My order arrives tomorrow and I'm so excited to start!!

Good Morning, new to the forums but happy that I found one that supports Medifast! Live in California and have been on MF for 16 days, man it feels like a lot longer for some reason. But I have to say this is by far the easiest "diet" I have done and eventually a lifestyle change once I learn better habits. I have dropped 11 pounds so far. I weighed in at 188 on 11/4/1 and today stepped on in 177 whoohooo.

Hi everyone :)

My name Kathleen and I live in Pennsylvania. Signed up with MF 5 weeks ago today. I am 39. I weighed in on my first day at 208lbs. Today was 183lbs. 25 pounds in 5 weeks. My last week was a little disappointing though, only a drop of 0.5 :(. Wasn't eating all of my L&G's everyday and only got in 4-5 MF meals a day. Thinking I might lose more weight by skipping meals does not work on this program. So excited to finally get down to my goal weight of 140 !! :)

Awesome!!!

Yeah, I've found more than a couple of the MF products aren't my thing. I've had bad experience with the pudding and the shakes, mostly because I didn't use the shaker bottle. LOL!

My name is Michelle and I live in Oregon. I tried Medifast awhile back but wasn't all in. I am finishing a challenge through a health coach who is a friend of mine. With all the support and encouragement, I've decided to give this another try and give it my all. My box arrive Wednesday and I will start Monday, November 3. Looking forward to improving my health.

Every day may not be good, but there is good in every day.~Author Unknown

Welcome, KLMEENAN!

My TSFL health adviser directed me to this website:

http://newbeautifulme.blogspot.com/p/tsf
l-medifast-recipes.html

I've done a few of these recipes, though none of the L&G. I'll need to give a few of them a try - I tend to eat only salads, which gets dull.

I have been on Medifast for 4 weeks and have lost 15 lbs. I like most of the meals. My main issue is my lean and greens. I have a tendency to eat the same meals over and over. We are getting a bit bored with them. What makes it hard is that we don't eat seafood and I can't have diary. Anyone have any recipe site recommendations other than Sandy's?

COMEOFFSTAYOFF, welcome!!! Glad to see you here!

I feel ya; I was totally in that boat a few years back. And the thing I love about Medifast is that my choices are made for me. I don't have to fret over what I'm eating - it's already prepared (often, on Sunday night, I'll make up baggies with my food for the rest of the week!). When I tried Weight Watchers, it was just too easy to say, "one more Oreo! Just one slice of pizza!"

I've been gaining weight over the years instead of losing, because I'm lackadaisical about my food choices. Until I have more energy, I need a program that makes the choices for me. That's why I chose Medifast. I plan to transition to a vegetarian lifestyle at the end of this journey, but this seems to be the best way to get there.

Hi I am new to this group. Started Medifast August 8. I am down 10.8 pounds so far. Happy with my progress, even though it seems slower than a lot of folks here. I have a few days to go to finish my first month and I hope to be down 12 pounds. :)

Hi everyone! I'm Renee. I'm on week two of Medifast and so far have lost 11.1 pounds! I have about 100 pounds to lose so this is going to be a long-term program for me. I really want to be down under 200 pounds before my 30th birthday, which is September 30 2015. I'll be blogging about my progress but hope to be active on this board as well!

Hello all - I'm new here, but have been on Medifast for about 7 weeks now. I learned about it through my doctor after being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. It is my goal to reverse my diabetes through weight loss and exercise, and while I have a lot of weight to lose, I know I can do it. I have a great doctor and health coach who text me every week, but it would be nice to have some pals that are going through the same thing right now. :)

Hello! I began my TSFL/Medifast journey on 12/27/13 with 51 pounds to lose. I have 15 pounds to go until I reach my goal weight which I hope happens during the Summer. I have a great health coach and know several people who lost and have maintained using this program which gave me hope. I need the coaching and support which is something I have never had before. I also had an exercise program that I enjoy in place before I started which is also a new thing for me.

I don't know if this group has any people on it that are in transition or maintenance which is something I am especially interested in finding support for. My plan, once I am able, is to not buy any of the Medifast food again. The bars and crunchers are very convenient while on the go but I would rather plan ahead and buy real food for meals and snacks. I don't like the artificial sweeteners and sugar alcohols used in many of their products though I understand why they use them for the weight loss part of the program. If optimal health is the goal why use artificial sweeteners?

Are there any of you in this forum who are in Maintenance? I just received the information to "bone up" on prior to reaching my goal but I know I will have a million questions. My health coach still uses Medifast food which I am sure they are encouraged to do. I want to end up eating 100% "real food". I know it will take planning and more shopping but it will hopefully get easier and more automatic with time.

I wish everyone great success on this program. It is a life-changer so far for me.

~Nora emoticon
