I agree. MyFitnessPal is an awesome app. It allows you to take a picture of the label on the food you are eating and it tracks all of the nutritional information for you. It's awesome.
Bri, we've all been where you are: just starting out and not sure if we could do it. Hang in there, This site will always stay free. At least this part of it anyway. As long as you try and you give of yourself you will succeed and you will probably make some lifelong friends here along the way. I wish you every success.

Also, look for teams or members from your area on the 'pages' section. It will be helpful to have someone you can workout with or that will be there to support you.

Hi Bri, It will be a challange making the change and getting your eating undercontrol but once you get the ball rolling in the right direction it becomes super easy. Trust me on that. Make the change in foods that are right for your goals, the people around you will notice the small changes in you over time and may want to get on board. The most important thing for you to do is stay strong. You can definately do it you seem to want to and have the drive. One small suggestion i can offer. start watching what you eat. If you have a smart phone download an app call My Fitness Pal. It will be a big help.

I know how hard it can be to eat well when no one around you is doing it. There is a pressure to "fit in" or to feel like you are sharing and socializing with your loved ones. Food plays a big part in that sometimes. I agree with what the first person said that a place to start is to track your food. That is what helped me the most right from the beginning. I didn't add exercise until later when I had already lost some weight. For me, I first started tracking and realized that I was still eating a lot of unhealthy things, so by the time I used up my calories for the day, I didn't eat a whole lot of healthy things. Try for lots of salads and greens and veggies. They really do fill you up, work wonders on your body and aren't a lot of calories. You can do this!! I believe in you. And I agree with you that this site is wonderful because it is free!!!! You go girl!

emoticon to this site - take time to check different peoples pages out, there are many neat things - just start tracking your food, water and exercise for a couple of weeks, this will be your bench mark from where you can start adding / subtracting till you have a plan that works.

Look at this as a 'new adventure' learning about what will or will not work for you...there are many people on this site that will be happy to encourage you along this path to success.

Look for teams that have members that are 'new moms' too and new on this path to creating a 'healthy environment for your self and your family. Another suggestion I could make is ask your family Dr if there is a support network for new Mom's in your community that you could participate in.

Hi, I am Bri, I am 19 years old & a mother of 1.
Before i got pregnant i weighed 127lbs, my weight when i found out i was pregnant was 134lbs & my weight when i was 9 months pregnant was, 168 at the highest. After i gave birth to my daughter Ryleigh, i was able to breast feed for 3 weeks till my milk supply decreased. i lost about 40lbs and weighed about 145lbs...
I know this is a lot to take in, but i now weigh 160.. and i am super depressed about my body, my weight and this one of the hardest times i have to go through.. i have tried workout DVDs, i have asked my fiance and my mother to help support me and to motivate me to keep going, and that didn't last.. they're just too busy.. I try to eat healthy, but living in a home where nobody else eats healthy really affects me as well.. so i decided to try this website, i never heard about it, i hope it stays free so i can really try my hardest, so far not so good, but i figured the beginning was going to be the hardest! i am in need of a lot of motivation to keep me on my feet, its a lot harder to keep motivated when someone is there in your ear telling you that you can do it, but i REALLY want to try my hardest, so i will take anything from other people who want to lose weight just as bad as i do!
