Welcome to Spark people. I am so glad that you found this group of people to encourage you. Weight watchers is also helpful and I have found help in both and they work well together. It is fantastic that you are well on your way to getting healthy.

You've been through a lot and have so much to offer others with your experiences. You can do this. You deserve it. Kudos for joining SP and wanting to keep from gaining the weight back. I'm sorry about the loss of your mom. That would be very hard to deal with.

Hi everyone, This is my second day on Sparkpeople. My journey to weight loss has not been an easy one. At thirteen, I join Weight Watchers where I weigh in at an astonishing 264. I lost a good 40 pounds but I always felt like I was starving. Upon entering high school, the weight slowing came back on. In 2010, my mom became extremely sick with cancer. She was only given a few months to live. In that time frame, I decided to start eating better and going to the gym. Sadly, my mom passed in October of that year and I felt like giving up. I took to heart what my mom told me,"I believe in you". While it was not easy dealing with grief and sticking to my goals, I knew that I had to continue on. Now, I am 70 pounds lighter but maintaining the weight loss has been a challenged. I feel like I am losing track of my goals and need to get back in the mindset.
