Thank you so much guys. Its a long tough road for everyone. On the days I feel too sore and tired lately I use as rest days but still make sure to do a 45 minute yoga routine. The Crunch Super Slim Down on netflix combines yoga and pilates and I find it great for days off. It really helps me stretch and actually reduces the soreness. I also rotate my workouts - one day I do a cardio & toning workout for an hour in the morning than a yoga/pilates at night the next day I do the yoga/pilates in the morning and the cardio/toning at night. I am not sure if it helps but I do find that it has helped with the fatigue and soreness.
The walking/jogging 5 miles a day is when I lost the most weight very, very fast. Unfortunately, I cant do it with my son home so the weight loss is slowing down now, but I am continuing this routine. I have to say that the yoga/pilates is really what I feel gets my body through the cardio/toning exercises because of the stretching I find it really helpful.

We can do this. Even through the ups and downs, we will accomplish our goals :)

Take care,

Hi Angelina,
You are doing a great job, and it is very encouraging to read about people who are having successes and have a great attitude. I am 48 years old (wow, I can hardly believe that) and I know how hard it gets to lose weight the older I get. I was about 151 lbs almost two years ago, and lost a bit before I found SP. At that point I was 139 and set my goal as 120. I actually made it to about 122, but never yet to 120. I am not sure if that is realistic for me. Last week I weighed in over 130 again, after a holiday, and am slowly getting that back off again. It is a slow process for me, and one that takes a lot of patience and ups and downs. I did not get overweight and unhealthy over night, so it will take a while for me to learn new habits. Sounds like you are doing some wonderful things. Keep up the great work. Very proud of you.

Hello everyone
I am a single mom of two kids. My weight increased due to stress and emotional eating, I originally lost my pregnancy weight. I am older now and find it so much harder to loose weight now.
I started on spark people about a month ago. I have slowly been trying to loose weight. I started with a diet change two months ago and than incorporated fitness. I was very out of shape so started with walking.
While my son was still in school I walked 5 miles every morning than added a jog to the walk. Now that my son is home, I use a variety of workouts such as the Crunch series on Netflix, a few workouts I have found on youtube.
I recently started 30 day shred 4 days ago and I feel like this workout is amazing and definitely feel a difference as far as toning.
In the past two months I have gone down from 162 lbs to 142 lbs today. It has been very exciting and very hard.
Right now I am looking at what I need to change, possibly adding more calories to my diet, I have been feeling very tired and fatigued and adding rest days to my routine. Its definitely harder now than loosing a couple of pounds 15 years ago but I am proud of my progress it has given me a new life with my kids. I hope to meet others on the same path and learn from others and help others if I can.
