Hey, my name is AJ, I live in North Carolina in the western mountain region, but am originally from Wisconsin. I'm married with a 10 year old son who is heavily involved in sports, baseball in particular. Last spring, he was really falling behind in his game (due to inactivity and starting to gain weight). To motivate him, we sat down as a family and agreed to change our lifestyle...begin excersise AND elimate most of the garbage foods. The result...my son plays on 2 baseball teams now, one being a coach selected travel team where he's starting first base and a relief pitcher. The other team he is their starting pitcher and 1st and 3rd base. Without coming together as a family and changing our bad habits, none of this would have ever been possible for him.
I'm currently getting my certification in massage therapy. And I'm big into natural health, through excersise and eating right.
I first heard of Joyce in the early 90's and had a rockin hard bod using her Definition workout. I was in my 20's at the time. Then came marriage and baby, career sitting at a desk and slowly through the years, my weight crept up and muscle tone was lost...you know, the downward spiral that we blame on aging and stress and having babies.
Well, here I am in my early 40's now. I've lost almost 50 pounds in the past year. All through walking and healthy eating. In November I started using Joyce's workouts again...and although the muscle tone is still covered with fat...I know it's under there! I feel STRONG!!! hehe
I have about 50-60 pounds left to lose..I'll determine the end number, once I get there. I am absolutely thrilled that there's a Joyce board though! Not many women that train using weights..so it's a treat to talk with others who are into it!
