Hi everyone - My name is Julee Davis, I'm from Tucson. I'm in my 40s.
In my 20s & early 30s, I worked out at the gym alot and was very muscular. Back then, I had a couple of Joyce's books and used them - didn't take them to the gym with me, but did use many of the exercises from the books at the gym.
My undiagnosed disease got worse after I had our children and my body declined for over 10 years - no matter how hard I worked out and dieted, I would gain weight every year. My Thyroid was finally diagnosed in '05, I was finally euthyroid by Feb of 08 and I hit the weights. I got out my Joyce books and subsequently found her website and DVDs. I have
Bottoms Up Gold Plus, Speedy Non-Stop, Top Shape,
Fast Forward, Just Abs and a few others. I've pre-ordered the Cougar Workout - it got a decent review from Dr. Beth on Amazon.com.
I worked out faithfully starting in February - I lost over 20 lbs and 11 inches off my hips. In late August, I had a Mammo scare. At the same time we were getting some work done on the house and by the time the workmen were out of the house, I pretty much collapsed. Did cardio and light weights, but not much else and not on my previously rigorous schedule. I basically blew the last quarter of 08 and put a few of my pounds back on.
So, here I am re-committing to myself to get in shape and get some weight off.
My plan is to try and get a JV boot camp going and am hoping to start tomorrow!
