Hello my name is Christine and I'm new to running. I started when my trainer had me start on the treadmill at the end of March. He had me run as long as I could then walk and repeat. I could only run a quarter of a lap to start with. Two weeks ago I ran my first mile straight in 12 minutes and 42 seconds so I was thrilled. I've definitely found that I like running and am looking to improve. Last night my trainer had me run a lap for him so he could see my form and push me and he did. He had me running at 5.7 and 6.0 on the treadmill which is faster than I've been doing. I'm working on my speed right now then I'll continue on my distance.

Steph! Running is an awesome way to relieve some stress. I kmow for me it's my only real me time where I can just zone out! Awesome job finishing the C25K...you will love the Rookie Runners. Make sure that you check out the monthly thread...that's where all the action is. Take care and good luck!
Jean Upcoming Races: Shamrock Shuffle 8K, Soldier Field 10 Mile, Ironman 70.3 Racine, Chicago 1/2 Marathon, HRMS Naperville Sprint Tri, Chicago Triathlon Olympic distance, Chicago Marathon
My goodness, Steph! If you've done all that & consider yourself a Rookie, I'm wondering what one has to do to graduate to non-rookie status! LOL
Welcome to the group! This is just my 2nd day here, myself, & I'm looking fwd to chatting w/ you!

I finished the C25K in June and I am still continuing with running. However, I am still at the beginning stages of running. I run a 5K in about 45 minutes and would like to shorten that time. I am working on a 10K program today, which has 4 days of running. I look forward to this, because running is so therapeutic for me. I have been looking for a running group and I believe I have found the best fit.
