Great job on your weight loss Katie and welcome back! There are lots of people on here with experience on marathons, so I am sure you will get the motivation and help you need. You certainly have the drive and the commitment to do it - you have come so far! A marathon in Hawaii sounds amazing - pics if you can!

Welcome back!!! Way to go on deciding to go for your first Marathon later this year and for losing 180 pounds (!!!! AWESOME!!!!) already! Sounds like you have what it takes to achieve all your goals and then some!
I'm looking at doing my first marathon in 2014 if all goes well - I am even circling around which one I want it to be. Having committed yet, but I have plenty of time since it isn't until June 1, 2014.
Way to go and I look forward to supporting you on your journey!

My name is Katie. Around 18 months ago I weighed 368 pounds. I've lost about 180 lbs since then, but I've reached a bit of a plateau. I rejoined SparkPeople in hopes of meeting new people and finding that motivation and drive that got me to this point! Running has become a very important part of my fitness routine and I'm looking at running my first marathon in December of this year. I look forward to connecting on here and losing my last 40 pounds!
