Taking 35 minutes off a half time is a huge accomplishment. That's awesome!
Have fun training and have lots of fun on the day of your race

As of this weekend I will be training for my 3rd Chicago Marathon. I started running because I quit smoking September 2009. I chose the Marathon as my "let's be healthy & never smoke again". It has prevented me from ever smoking, however my exercising begins with training for the Marathon & has ended with the Marathon for two years. I vowed that I would not do another Marathon unless I have an official finishing time (under 6:30). Having my name in the paper, and crossing the finish line before they start tearing it down will be a huge accomplishment for me. I didn't sign up last year, because I wasn't committed enough to get my time down. I did the Monster Dash Half Marathon here in Chicago instead. I took 35 minutes off my PR for the half, and decided that my improvement is worthy of trying for the big one again. I have joined a group nearby that is doing running drills which is also helping my strength & speed. I just need to adjust what I use to fuel my body. That is my hardest feat.
Completed 2-Chicago Marathons, 4-Rock N Roll Half Marathons, 1-Monster Dash Half Marathon, 2-Soldier Field 10 Milers, 2-Shamrock Shuffles & multiple 5K & 10K races.
