Welcome! I feel it would be so much easier too if I was lighter but I do anticipate that being the case eventually.

Summer in Alaska! Wonderful time to get back to running.
Hi all, greetings from Anchorage - I'm Debby, turning 45 this month - and am excited along with a healthy dose of anxiety about getting back into running. I never (ever) been a fast runner, but in my 30's I completed a 1/2, and really enjoyed the women's tri here in Anchorage. I am now about 30-40 pounds over what I should be... 10 years older, but I know I can do this. Why can't we get back into shape at a better weight.. it would be so much easier :)
I love gadgets, they really get me moving - so I pulled out my Garmin 405 watch that I've had for a couple of years and really figured out how to use it last weekend, lots of fun. Today, I went to get fitted for some new shoes, and I'm back in Saucony's due to needing some extra 'structure' in my shoe.
I'm using a runner's world 8 week run/walk interval program, right at the moment I can't remember when running wasn't painful (ha!) - but I do recall how much I loved it when I could just head out with nothing more than shoes and cover some miles.. what a *great* feeling.
So, glad to be back on the trails/roads - Anchorage was beautiful yesterday for a run/walk, today it's raining - but I still got out there. 6 days a week right now, 2 of those being straight walking days. Looking forward to learning new things on the team, and having a place to ask a few questions. Cheers!
