Thanks! It was Week Two so we did 2 min Run, 2 min Walk for 5 times. I was glad to see that I was able to keep the pace up with everyone else. I used the MapMyRun app and it worked out to 1.84 miles in 24 minutes. I am a beginner runner so am happy with that!

I think it's so awesome you have a team like that to work with! I wish there was a group like that near where I live but living in a rural area of New Mexico there is nothing closer than at least 2 or 3 hous away. There is a very very small running group here I've heard of but they do some really tough trail runs and are way more experienced and I don't want to even attempt it with them. I think there is less than 10 people in that group. I haven't been able to find another beginning runner in my area so I keep going it alone and have stopped and started many times because I let things get in the way. I have done several 5k's over the past couple of years though. If I had someone or a group to train with I think it would be easier to not let things get in the way. I'm doing okay and not meaning to sound whiny, but saying how great it is that you have that opportunity. Make the most of it. You can definitely do this!!

I was away last week for the first week of the program and our homework was to run twice before tonight for Walk 1 minute, Run 1 minute and do that nine times, with a 5 to 10 minute march before and cooldown walk and stretch afterwards. I was able to do that twice.
I have the Group Run tonight which will be Week Two and my first week. Am really excited about this because I love group classes and this will be my first time learning to run with a group. One of the leaders said that at the end of the program she will enter a 5K run with whoever wants to participate in it. That is my goal!
