Welcome! You are doing awesome! I have a 5K this month that I am hoping to be able to jog most of. I am just starting my running program, but could run a mile before starting it.

I look forward to your support and contribution to the group!

I will do this! Goal will be mine in 2012!

Hello. I am new to spark people. I join this rookie running group because I wanted to start running races for fun. My April is full up on races. I am doing my second 5k then I will be running a 5kmud run. I am not the fastest runner but I believe I can do it.

Hi everyone!

I was on Sparkpeople before and lost about twenty pounds. I let excuses and a not-what-I-wanted experience with scale get me off track. I gained back everything I had lost with a few extra pounds to boot.

As Lent approached this year, I was looking at what I wanted to give up for the season. That idea blossomed into a challenge to myself. I would eat healthy and exercise for 15 minutes EVERY day of Lent, no excuses & no exceptions! My 15 minutes has morphed into about an hour a day of exercise. I have recently decided to extend that streak to 100 days.

I also looked at other ways to keep the momentum going once Lent was over. I had done a walking 5k when I was sparking before. I started to look for races to participate in. The one that stuck out the most was a 10k Diva Dash in November. So, I signed up, as a RUNNER. I have also registered and paid for 5k in April, May, June, and August. The races I want to do for September & October aren't open yet and I still looking for one for July. The former couch potato is doing one race a month from April to November.

I am doing the "5k My Way" training. I am repeating week 3, I was out of town over the weekend and just to exhausted to get my run on at the hotel (did workout, just not the planned schedule).

I am looking forward to being part of this team!
