Jonathan I agree great name almost as good as mine- LoL
I started running in Oct first 5K race ever in Dec Started my new year Jan 1 2009, with I ran 7.2K
I will keep building my base and hopefully by March run 10K race
Keep cross training, and follow advice of the experts to avoid injury and welcome

Just wanted to check in and introduce myself. I'm a relatively new runner (Sept. '08) from the great State of Alabama. I've had a SP profile since '06 but have recently become active on here. I originally started my quest to get into shape and lose weight last March and on a whim signed up to run a 1 mile fun run in August, even though I couldn't run a mile non stop!! After that I began running/walking. . . or walking/running in my neighborhood, slowly working my way up over a mile and now even I am amazed at how far I've come. I'm excited about the new year and I think I've been bitten by the running bug. As evidence of that, I signed up for my first ever 5k on March 7th!!!
