Hiking is such a great way to Spark! I love the outdoors...it can be so inspiring!
The Nutrition and Fitness trackers are definitely the core of building a healthy and well lifestyle. The other features about SparkPeople which I think make it THE best health and wellness online community is the positive, supportive nature of contacts which you can build here with your SparkFamily. Browsing other SparkPages and blogs, leaving comments, blogging your journey, joining in with message threads or starting up new threads with questions, observations...all of this brings out the supportive nature of our community.
The added feature of a local SparkTeam is that we can pull together and enjoy SparkRallies in a variety of ways, whether a pot-luck picnic at one of our local parks, walking together, catching up with each other at events such as the upcoming Binghamton Bridge Run (which I'll be doing) or meeting up at local spots such as the Whole In The Wall restaurant which features veggie and healthy dishes.
This is OUR TEAM and we can pull together for fun and to show our SPARK! A few years back we joined with the American Cancer Society and had a blast being in on the Relay For Life in which we had someone walking the relay for 24 hours straight!
