Wow! It just occurred to me that we have LOTS of new members here at our local Binghamton Area Losers SparkTeam!
But so many of you have not yet chosen to set up a SparkPage for yourselves...! I hope you can try this as it is a wonderful way to get even MORE from your SparkPeople community! Folks can swing by a drop off some SparkGoodies and leave messages of support and feedback and once you start sharing your thoughts via blogs...whew! How addictive it can be to read all the feedback you get from others and then you like to check out what your fellow Sparkers are writing about in THEIR blogs...!
I also want to encourage ALL of our members, but especially our new members to keep your thinking cap on and brainstorm new and fun ways to hold Spark Rallies and meet 'n greet gatherings.
Here are some of the things we have done over the past year:
---Held a SparkRally to raise money for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. We had someone on the track walking at MacArthur Park for 24 hours...woo hoo!
---Joined in the CHOW Hunger Walk effort to raise money for food for the needy.
---Joined our fellow Ithaca & Finger Lakes SparkTeam to go kayaking in Cayuga Lake in Ithaca and later at Dorchester Park in Whitney Point.
---One of our new members (TUPPROACH) graciously invited us to her home shortly after she moved...guess you could call it a SPARK-warming...! :-)
---Another member (ORIGAMIFREAK) invited us to her home on the outskirts of a Finger Lakes State Park for a lovely walk in the park followed by a potluck meal at her home.
I welcome any and all ideas for casual meet 'n greets and / or Spark Rallies...both to offer each other support and friendship and / or to join causes to show our community what a big heart we all have here at SparkPeople!
Please feel free to post back ANY thoughts / ideas / suggestions...would LOVE to hear from EVERYONE, but ESPECIALLY NEW MEMBERS! :-)
