I would join some SparkTeams with a PCOS theme and in your introduction to the Team let them know that you would appreciate a buddy and specifically what you would be looking for in a buddy.

GL and keep on SPARKIN'!

Thanks for the welcome, you guys. I have a spark question. How do you find a mentor or buddy? I'm looking for a woman to check in with daily or weekly. Someone who understands PCOS, or being a SAHM, or insulin resistance. I put it on my spark page but my page isn't new, so I'm not sure I'll get any replies. Would I ask specifically on the PCOS page?

Thanks,
Night Sky

Coming back to spark is a great step. Remember slow and steady wins the race. Little steps make huge changes. One thing for you each day. One less calorie intake one more calorie burn in the long run will make the difference.

Welcome back

You might want to consider joining a PCOS team. You can find a lot of support there for our unique needs.

Hey, you are flexing VITALLY IMPORTANT psychological muscles by getting with the SPARK once again!

The trick is: what can you do this time around to insure SUCCESS? I always say "Mistakes are Opportunities for Learning!"

Take a close look at what factors played a role in your falling off the wagon and staying off the wagon? Sounds like you've identified a few trouble spots (re: exercising, healthy eating and sleep), but it can be even more helpful to take it a step further:

What barriers prevent me from exercising? How can I structure my life to overcome these barriers and make it more of a certainty that I'll follow through on my exercise?

Ditto for health eating and sleep!

Keep coming back to the message boards and participate to get the MOST from our Team!

ps...we're really ramping up our efforts to meet at local parks and later this month we're participating in American Cancer Society's Relay For Life! Check out the details at this message thread:

Hi. I want to re-introduce myself. I'm a stay-at-home mom of 2, and I'm having lots of trouble with getting back in the game. I lost 9 pounds last fall, and then fell off the wagon over the holidays. I've stayed off the wagon since then. I'm not doing well, and need to get back into the swing of excersizing, eating right, going to bed earlier, taking my metformin, and taking care of myself. I have PCOS and insulin resistance.

I guess I feel like a failure. I've of course gained back the 9 pounds, and probably more. I know I need to get into a positive thinking space and get started again.

Anyway, hi.
