Welcome to all the newcomers! I have not been too active on here but I REALLY want to lose this 10 lbs in the month of June so here I am. I'm going to need you all for this! Anyone play any sports such as softball, volleyball, or soccer? I'd LOVE to get together and put a pick-up game together- great way to exercise without even realizing it!

Thanks everyone for the nice welcome! I definitely will post any information I have that has helped me, and I look forward to hearing from everyone else! BTW, I took a walk in Ostinango yesterday, and it was beautiful outside! So nice to see people using the park, playing volleyball and soccer. Gets me excited for summer!

Hey everyone! I'm Bobby. I'm new to SP. A friend recommended this site to me, and i've found it to be amazing. The recipies are great, and the support from others is fabulous. I can't believe I found a Binghamton group! Definitely am excited. It's nice to know there are local people here going through what I am as well.

No, sadly I am not that creative! It's just something I found online long ago and have used it for my profile on another site for ages. I just thought it went well with my user name and my hair.

We try to do things as a family to be active. We go to the track as a family and usually toss a football around after we've finished our respective walks/runs. I take the kids on bike rides, too, but that's not necessarily the best workout for me, as I have to slow down their speed. My husband tries to help me out by keeping the kids distracted while I sneak out with my bike so they don't try to come with me! I love riding with my kids, but sometimes I just NEED more of a workout.

I injured both of my knees last year, but before that I would take the kids geocaching and hiking quite often. That was a blast, and I really look forward to being able to get back to it.

You are very wise about the best gift you can give your family is your health. Certainly true in many ways!

Having kids is very challenging for sure - they keep us hopping with their busy schedules. I try to get my daughter to do physical things with me - I even have her keeping score for our softball team!

On the other hand, it is nice to get alone time, away from the kids - just a sanity thing...but there can be guilt with that! I walk alone, with my buddies or with my new pup!

Welcome! I have two stepsons, but they aren't so little (10 and 12.) One of my biggest challenges with kids is carving out the time to exercise. I don't necessarily think it's slacking, but moreso being overwhelmed with other commitments. It's hard not to feel guilty about devoting time to myself, even though ultimately my health is one of the best gifts I can give my family. With longer days and school ending soon (not soon enough!) I look forward to having more time to devote to my workouts.

Welcome again, I'm glad you found us!

Hi there! Thanks for joining our little group :)

I think we can all relate to having periods of slacking off but I think together we can find the motivation to make the right decisions and succeed in our goals!

I don't have any little ones at home either, but Happy Birthday soon to yours! :)

welcome nightsky - glad to have you with us. the only "little" ones I have are my dogs - they are enough.

I can relate to the slacking off thing - but that is why we keep coming back "here" to keep each other motivated.

good luck on your goals. have a great day

Hi there! I'm new at SparkPeople. I've lived in the Southern Tier all of my life. Can't believe I found a Binghamton area team here!!! emoticon Does anyone have little ones? I have a 3 year old and a 6 year old - they will turn 4 and 7 this summer. emoticon Can't believe that, either.

I go to American Fitness and do weight circuit training, and about 20 minutes of cardio. I try to do it 2-3x per week. I was doing great but I've slacked off the past couple of weeks.

Nice to meet everybody. emoticon

Night Sky
