We have members from the East coast to the West coast so people tend to be in and out. Some of us are morning people, some evening people, and some are in and out all day. We just post when we can and someone will get back to us.

When I started I was doing 50-60 carbs a day and worked my way down to less than 20. To just drop to 20 in one day was too much for me!! emoticon
It took me about a week and a half.

Well right know I stick at no more then 26 carbs per day and with time I hope to drop that to about 20 then 15 and then stopping at 10 carb per day. On your cheat days your allowed up to I believe 400 g don't quote me on that my book is in the car. You also have the option of introducing a fast more or less where you go anywhere from 16 to 36 hours after your cheat day and only drink water. I haven't gotten there yet. I don't think I could go more then 16 hours without food nor do I think I want to. I might try we'll see.
Thank you to everyone for there warm welcomes I will defiantly try and make it to the discussions any paticular time of day that is most active?

The ketogenic diet is a high-fat, adequate-protein, low-carbohydrate diet. The diet forces the body to burn fats rather than carbohydrates. It's known mostly for treating Epilepsy but it's also shown good results with everything from cancer, fatty liver and mental health issues. So the first 10-14 days your low carb then you have a carb up day, then for the next 7 days your low carb again and then again a carb up day. This continually tricks your body into burning fat instead of carbs resulting in less artificial processed food and sugar being consumed and more weight loss being seen. At least thats my understanding of it.

What is the Keto diet?
I lost so much fluid the first 2 weeks of low carbing I am pain free from inflammation now! Even without losing more weight! Hopefully it will help you too! :o)

Hi,
My name is Susie and I am new to Sparkpeople.com. I am going to be doing the Keto Diet starting today and to be honest I am terrified! I am without a doubt a carb-aholic and I know I am going to need all the help I can get. My goal is to lose 27lbs, gain some energy, reduce pain and inflammation and to feel better about myself. So any help that you guys can give me weather it be recipes, motivation idea's, protein shakes, exercises anything I would be so appreciative. I really hope to get to know some of you.
