I was off Spark this summer, stopped tracking, slacked off exercise, stopped Wii and regained the 10 pounds I'd lost so I'm back and sticking with it, doing what I need to do to to improve health and fitness. I've been using Wii again the past few weeks 3-4 times a week and breaking up the sessions into 10-15 minutes. It's easier to do and to fit it in plus it's not as tiring.

I've been off SP for a while now. My daughter got me started on My Fitness Pal, and I met some friends over there. I finally dragged out my wii fit today, and they don't have an active wii group, so I am back here just for this group! I love having the challenges to give me some direction for my workouts.

Hi, I am not new to Wii, Wii-fit or Sparkpeople. Its a off and on again relationship, that I want to turn to serious. I enjoy Wii-fit. My two kids are also on Wii-fit and it can get pretty competetive. We also have extreme challenge for the wii. I enjoy the rock climbing and the luge on that game. I am back on Sparkle due to a knee injury and the Dr "suggested/said" losing 1/2 lb a week. I found this team and thought it might help me to get exercising more. I hope I can make all the challenges, I will try but most times, I can only get on the Wii on the weekends.

I started on SP people back in 2012, I've been on and off the site a bit since then...but, I'm back again and this is one of the challenges/pages I always enjoyed being a part of, so I'm glad to be back and ready to kick start my weight loss!

I'm not losing weight, I'm getting rid of it. I have no intention of finding it again.

I feel your pain. My goal today is to get the Wii reconnected and dust off the balance board. We went on a 5 month road-trip. I am sure I have put on 20+ pounds. I waited until the kids were back in school to get started. I also have an 11-year-old daughter. Proud of you for doing this with yours. You are setting such a good example. I cannot bring myself to let my daughter know how much I weigh. She is probably 65 pounds dripping wet. Best of luck to both you and your daughter.

Hey all! New to the team. I decided to restart my wii fit as it needed some dusting off - ick - I have found another use for my wii fit too! I don't know if anyone else does this or not, but I figured I would share it: I have in inside spinning bike, I attach my wii remote to my calves via strap, set my wii fit to free run, and pedal away on a track. I need something to focus on when I do cardio or else I pay attention to the fact that I cannot breath and stop all together so I found this incredibly helpful. I "travel" around the island, listen to music, increase my resistance when I climb the hill, lower it when I go down. I realize that the calorie information is a bit off this way, so I log it as spinning or light cycling (I have to be careful with my asthma not to push too hard or I will have an attack and I don't have an inhaler currently). I wondered if anyone else did this, with a bike or treadmill, elliptical, whatever.

Would you talk to your friends the way you talk to yourself?

I've been only doing WIO occasionally, not like I used to do. I'm doing a challenge and about every 2-3 days I will do WIO.

I WANT to get back to my serious workouts!! I need some motivation!!!!

I've been away from my poor little Wii balance board for a few years now - and when I got back on, I had gained back 20 pounds and it said "You're obese." Not a fun thing to hear - even worse when it said the same to my 11-year-old daughter. We are teaming up and making it a point to eat well and have fun! The first goal we each set it to get back to the "overweight" category. emoticon

I've been on Sparkpeople (on and off, sadly more off) for 6 years. I had got my weight down to 180 (goal around 140-50) and then two years ago in the summer I got put on a two week course of prednisone, and I've never been so hungry in my life. Between that and some more knee trouble (had my second surgery for torn cartilage in 2013) by the end of last year I was up to 225. Heck I didn't weigh anywhere near that much going into labor with either of my kids! Then I lost my job in November, and have been sitting around moping while sending out resumes and job applications and getting nada back.

Now that I've even run out of unemployment insurance I needed something to keep me (or even just get me) motivated and decided it was time to lose the weight (easier since we can't really afford to buy snack food!) and I dusted off the Wii after close to 2 years. I've cut back on the number of groups; last month was my first month back and I stayed with the Wii Walk It Out team. I've decided it's time to add a bit more variety, so I'm coming back here for that, to see if that will help me continue losing at a nice steady pace like I've been doing for the last 6 weeks.

Restarting here, I'm on day 11 of my restart, have lost 3 pounds so far. I love doing the step aerobics on the Wii Fit, I bought a... I don't know what you'd call it, but it goes under the Wii Fit board and makes it as high as a real aerobic step is supposed to do. I only use it for free-step, I'm afraid otherwise I'd fall off!

Hi!
I am returning after a long absence. It is now time to once again work into a routine. My wii provides a variety of ways to get moving both in itself and as an adjunct to other activities. The challenges are extremely helpful to me for both motivation and accountability. I am looking forward to seeing some improvement.

Hello,
I've not been on Sparkpeople for about two years as I think I overwhelmed myself with too many groups and challenges...

This time I'm starting slowly and am going to join you wii fitt-ers!

Excited to start a new challenge and dust off my Wii Fit balance board!

Hi! I'm no stranger to my Wii Fit, but haven't used it in a while (not liking watching my Mii expand itself!!) Anyway, just started on a two week holiday hiatus and thought this would be a good time to re-acquaint myself. My favourite exercises are the bike rides(trying to get all the flags), free run and the hula hoop. I also have, for variety, put in a 15 minute yoga and strength regime. Wish me luck! emoticon

I've been away for a long time, years in fact. Time to dust off the Wii Fit and get moving again! I'm almost afraid to step on it and watch my little avatar expand....time to face the music.

I've had WiiFit for a while but haven't used it recently. I got WiiFit+ and really like the extra content. I want to start using it regularly so figured this would be a great team to join...I don't have access to the gym and after a lot of setbacks I'm heavier than I was when I started Sparkpeople...hopefully this will be a good start to working off the pudge.

I had a Wii Fit a few years ago, but it broke during a move. Then, I needed an active game for the kids during this harsh winter, so we bought another Wii +Wii Fit. I forgot how much I love it! The kids try to 'out do' Mommy, so it keeps them going too. DH bought a gadget I can add to it while doing step aerobics to make it as tall as an actual aerobic step! Now if I can just remember to do it every day! i have 100 + pounds to lose!

Hi! I use Wii Fit U (didn't see it in the intro so I hope it's included). If you have it, feel free to send me a friend request (same username), just message me to let me know you're from here. I'm a stay-at-home mom living in Bothell, WA and love using my fit meter to track my calories.

I started in earnest in December 2013, once I got my fit meter, and it's been a big help with my weight loss - 8 pounds so far! If anyone has a fit meter I'd love to track fit meter challenge milestones.

Hi there. I have been a rather quiet member of this team. I just came back to SP a couple of weeks ago, but didn't think to check back in with the team. I used to live in Boston, but moved to NE Ohio last July. I have gained back all the weight that I lost over the course of the past couple of years since I first joined this site. But, I am not getting discouraged, because it is better to make the scale go down from where I am at now, then to sit & wallow and gain even more weight.

For the past several months, I have been dealing with health issues that affect my ability to exercise (usually, I would find myself in a lot of pain, and some days would be confined to the bed). I am trying to take back control and slowly get my way back into the groove where I was on a steady streak of losing weight.

With the frigid temperatures outside, I don't want there to be any excuses for doing some sort of activity. I really enjoy the Wii Fit (but I have several other games that I enjoy just as much & like to have a variety in my routine). Whichever game I choose, I find that I enjoy working out, and it doesn't feel like a chore.

Looking forward to reconnecting to the team and becoming more active on the boards. I read a lot of your posts, even if I don't take the time to respond to each and every one.

A focused mind is one of the most powerful forces in the universe. (fortune cookie)

I'm afraid of heights...so I don't know if I can. I will be taking advantage of the tennis courts and I think they even have hiking trails. I have to do something I usually end up gaining weight at these things.

You'll be able to use the zipline - my 10 year old grand-daughter had a blast!

I know the feeling. I'm going to be in Boyne this summer for a conference with my husband. We went a couple of years ago and had a great time so they are going back there again. I might even get up enough nerve to use the zip line.

Hi I'm Laura from Michigan. I've had my Wii Fit for several years now. I really enjoy using it especially during the cold winter months when it's to hard to get out side. I'm hoping to join some fun challenges on this team.

Hi Everyone,

My name is Lori, I live in Montana. I love using my Wii fit plus. I use it a lot this time of year, I don't like the cold to much. I make it family fun as well. So it get pretty competitive at times. My 10 year old son likes to challenge me. My 3 year old is also getting pretty good with the balance games.

Keep working hard. Take one day at a time.

I've not been to Spark for a while now. I have managed to gain over 20 lbs. since June. We had given away or Wii last year. But, for Christmas our kids gave us a WiiU. We haven't set it up yet.
It comes with a wiifit download. Daughter is going to set it up tomorrow (weather permitting she can come over).

I'm trying to get started again. I used the Wii 4 years ago to get started and lost 75lbs. I ended up gaining it back and now I am ready to do this for good. My favorite is the Biggest Loser, but I don't have it anymore. I need to get another copy of it. I do have the Fit Plus, so I will be checking in on it daily! Wish me luck!

Last thursday on Jan 2 I started exercising again. Was trying to eat healthier again, yesterday wasn't good since didn't watch what was eating as much so ended up gaining some weight also since exercising so I hope I can start to lose weight. Was wierd I weighed less when not exercising so I'm gonna have to find the right exercise routine and foods to work well. I hope these smart ones from weight watchers isn't making me gain weight; I noticed they had a lot of sodium - eating them for brkfst and lunch and a regular meal for supper so most meals are controlled portions. Also hoping by eating more fruits, yogurt will eventually help. So since last wk I started biggest loser wii game for 20 min and then air climber for 10 min so getting at least 30 min; 5 days per wk. Gonna also do 2 mile run from my wii system per week.

Hi

I've been on here a while, but of late have not done much on my wii. I have over the last couple of days increased the use of my indoor bike, but will need to vary the exercises I do to stay the long trail.

Success is inevitable

I have not been very consistent the last 3 months. I'm excited to join this team, especially after seeing Sheenadee here. My hubby has been painting inside our house. I guess I didn't burn many calories on the sofa watching it get prettier . Lol but it isn't really funny to gain 5 more pounds. Gotta get it moving... emoticon

I can't find a thread addressing my question, and no one else has said not to, so I'm going to log my Wii Sports, Gold's Gym Cardio, and Just Dance times as well, since I'm counting those in my fitness tracker. If I'm screwing up the system, please tell me, thanks!

Hi all! This is probably a lame question already asked somewhere else, but are we only supposed to log Wii Fit minutes? Because I use Wii Sports for Tennis and Just Dance 2 for sweat points, and I'm not sure whether to include those minutes as well? Ta!

hello everyone I'm back finally got me a new wii (neighbor sold me his) and went and finally found a wii fit plus game (kids killed mine both game and system by jamming 3 games all in it at once ) the game wasn't easy to find but anyway so far have played a few things on it and have ran ten mins on it a few days ago but im ready to get started on it. My wii fit age a few days ago was 44 im only 31 so seems I have a lot to improve on emoticon

I'm not afraid....my own little saying that I say every morning or while im exercising, their is a new challenge every day and I cant allow myself to be afraid....In the world of autism their is never a non eventful day for this and my son each challenge must be met head on.

My name is Teresa. I am now ready to become more active following an injury. I have always enjoyed my wii fit and this is a great place to meet others who feel the same while challenging myself to improve. I credit the skills practiced on the wii for preventing a worse outcome.
Best luck to all - have fun! emoticon

I'm 326 So I wasn't sure if it would work or not. It's been 2 days and I haven't had any problems. I'm really excited that there is a Wii fit group on SP. I look forward do doing the challenges.

I am back! I have not been active here, and not so active on the board either...but with the weather turning wintery, I and my kids have been playing a bit more Fit.
I was doing some random routine, and got to thinking of you all...wonder what challenges are this week! You have made a place in my heart, emoticon Lol.

I need batteries, headed out shortly. Will post soon!

Hello, I have been here before and have missed this team. I work out at the gym after work but want to add more time by working out in the morning before work and since I avoid the gym on my off days I need to move on those days as well. I haven't used my wii fit in a while so am looking forward to doing these challenges again,

Hello! I'm Amber, I was formerly on SparkPeople as Salijackt, but have rejoined and am starting fresh. This was one of my favorite groups before and I'm looking forward to getting back into the challenges. Due to health reasons, I need to exercise where I can sit down quickly to avoid passing out and doing the Wii Fit lets me do just that!

Hi All,

I'm new to this team. I have Wii Fit Plus and several other games. I love my Wii and try to do something every day. I used my Wii Fit Plus yesterday, first time in a couple of months and forgot how much I have and actually get some exercise.

I look forward to being a part of this team.

Hi everyone! Sparkpeople worked for me the first time around.. now I have to get myself motivated so it can work for me this time! I haven't been using my Wii and am hoping to get some motivation to get back in the swing of things! Great to be here and I'll just have a look around to see what the group is all about!

Been away from SparkPeople along time. I reached my heaviest weight ever recently. A lot of that is due to inactivity. The past year I have gained about 20 pounds and had a lot of health issues. I have been diagnosed with UCTD (Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disease) and Diaphragm Dysfunction (which causes shortness of breath with little to no activity). These make exercise difficult but I am going to try it in small doses. Wii weighins, body test, Yoga Poses, short walks. I am also using Leslie Sansone videos though I can't do an entire mile, walk at a much slower pace than the video, and don't do all the moves but small steps will get me there just take longer.

Every day is a good day for a walk!

WAY too long away from SP....haven't gained it all back, but only 4 pounds separates me from my starting point of a year ago. Restarting, with an "in house partner" this time....my teenage son! He wants to start working on building muscle and gaining weight so he doesn't look younger than he is (and most of his peers are taller than him and he's uncomfortable with being shorter AND thinner). SO.....might not get to this week's challenge, but will be checking back in every morning to see what's up and get us both motivated

I have a Wii fit that was just sitting under the tv stand, actually hadn't used it in 138 days, or so it told me. That was probably the last time I had done any real exercise. I think I have used every excuse, and I do mean excuse, not to do any form of a workout, but am trying to get back on the path of healthy living.

It doesn't matter how slowly you go, as long as you don't stop!

I have noticed since I have gotten back on my Wii Fit I just feel so alive. It's fun and challenging. I love to do the bubble balance exercises, makes me mad when it pops. I use to run years ago with my mom and so I like to do the different running lengths. Has anyone tried any of the Mario and Sonic games or the Wii Resort games for exercise?

A glorious day comes from a glorious attitude.

Hi Sheena! I'm new. I mean, I've had my Wii Fit for AGES and AGES, but I haven't touched it in so long I'm sure the batteries are dead and it's got several layers of dust on it.

I'm going to drag it out from underneath the t.v. console tomorrow morning. Wish me luck!

Hello to all the newbies I may not have greeted yet!!!

It's nice to see you join the team and introduce yourself. Check out the first couple of sticky threads in the Challenges Forum to see the active challenges. There is an ongoing monthly one (the 2nd sticky) and a new weekly one that generally starts each Sunday although I seem to be late with it again this week and will go post it now. Hope to see you there!

Hi. I'm new to this forum. I lost 15 pounds several years ago using the original WII Fit. I had committed to no less than 30 minutes and no more than 60 minutes each day. During that time, I created a great workout, but have since lost it. It was my introduction to fitness as I had previously not been very active. I've been dealing with an injury the past few months and have been unable to exercise at all and I'm in no shape to take on a strenuous program. Besides, the Wii is just fun and exercise doesn't seem like a chore! I'm looking forward to being part of this group.

Hello Everyone,

My name is Lesli. I am a single mom to a 4yo boy, Ronan. Right now he gets more use from the Wii than I do because he's addicted to the Sports programs. He loves to golf and play tennis. I'm lucky if I can weigh in before he wants it. I also have multiple sclerosis which sometimes limits my outside time. Hence the Wii :). I have several workout games including Golds Gym Cardio and Zumba. I would like to be able to utilize these more as well as the Wii Fits.

Thanks for reading :). Have a great week.

Why do we try so hard to be like everyone else, when we were born to be unique?

Hello,

I just joined this group and thank you, Merle for the warm welcome and the email about this week's challenges. I use to be rather active on my regular Wii Fit but when my guys gave me the Wii Fit Plus, I had not been using the Wii as much for working out so I really appreciate learning more about the program from the challenge as well! And learning that my Wii Fit Age was 23 was a great inspiration this morning too :)

Thanks for being here and letting me join you all!

~Dagny

Don't be sorry! I'm just one of those types that need someone to tell them what to do. I am very excited about this challenge.

Welcome back, MAESTRACH! emoticon

emoticon JUNKFOODFOOL! I think the Wii is a great way for a lot of people to get into exercising and/or for those who cannot do many other forms of exercise. About the July challenges...I'm afraid I got quite busy and didn't get them posted on time. I am taking care of that tonight. Sorry!

I just joined this group. I love my WII. It is the easiest form of exercise to stick with that I have found.. I my be blind but I can't find the challenge that has been issued for July. My name is Liz. I'm 64 so the WII is a realistic way to exercise. I like most of the games on WII Fit/PLUS.
I also have a game called "Walk it out" that is great. Looking forward to getting to know everyone.

We now have a Wii in two rooms so I can no longer use the excuse that my daughter is watching tv to not get my Wii time in. I'm resparking my journey this week. I've regained about half of what I lost in 2011. I need it gone. So I'm back.

S - Start slowly, set yourself up for success
T - Try new things, don't say you can't do something or don't like something before you have tried it.
A - Add movement everywhere, walking farther, calf raises while waiting in line, etc.
R - Realize that you are human & will make mistakes
T- Take time to recognize your successes - celebrate!

God, grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can and the wisdom to know it's me.

emoticon Corrie! I like to garden too; but, better to save the gardening for cooler times of the day. The Wii definitely helps me with exercising while indoors.

Welcome to the team and I wish you all the best!

Hello!
I've been using this site for several months and have lost a few pounds and a few inches but need to kick thing up a bit and since I have WII fit I figured I could try it to see if it would work. Usually I like to garden but the older I get the heat seems to bother me more so this year I guess I won't loss any weight like I usually do every year.

Hello,

I joined SparkPeople 2 weeks ago. My son gave me Wii Fit Plus when I mentioned being interested in one (he's such a great guy!). I really like it.

In the great shipyard of life it helps to be a little dinghy.

Hi, I've been on SP for about 2 months, but had dusted off my Wii about 3 months ago. I love it! My favorite is the running and finding new paths.
