emoticonHi and welcome! And, you've received some great ideas from our friends here, and I agree with them as well. Slowly start adding a few extra minutes of walking, or doing any other physical activity that you enjoy -- and, in time, it'll feel more like your daily way of living. Plus, you may find that your energy increases and that motivation will come naturally -- as you'll feel more energetic and love it!

I felt like that when I began. I started very small on exercise as I was so out of shape. I bought a rolling walker and began walking 1 block and back. Had to rest at the corner! Last Saturday I walked a 5k! Even tiny efforts help, they just take longer to work. Change ALL the trans fats and as much of the saturated fats as you can manage out of your diet. Use a good olive oil instead of butter when you must have fat as a condiment. Keep trying! Never give up!emoticon

welcome to the group. For motivation I use an outfit that is 2 sizes too small. If I can see my goal I tend to work harder to try to reach it. I also use a picture of myself when I was healthy. So far it seems to work.

I was so very happy to sign up on sparkpeople! I was finally going to take charge again! I am a procrastinator by nature, so I indended to "start" on Monday. Well, today is Monday...I am already breaking my own rules and not doing any of what I wanted to do...eat a healthy breakfast, do morning stretches...Where do you all get your motivation when you just don't feel like doing anything?
