Wanted to update this message board. I'll be at maintenance for 6 months on October 8th! Sparkpeople have made all the difference. I've reached my goal many times before only to yo yo back up. I've never been here more than a month before I reverted back to bad habits. Thanks to those who have created this site and to those who hang out here like myself and try to get help and help others! Well have lost 13 lbs since Dec. and very happy with where I am! Now have to deal with maintaining. Low carb has really worked. The last 3 months I have planned my grocery list and made sure to keep everything I need ready at a moments notice. I've noticed that when I get hungry I have to have the right things in the house or I'm doomed to fail. So I have to be diligent about the groceries. Any tips for maintaining out there?
Thanks im trying to keep track of calories. kinda hard with holiday visiting. starting next week things will be normal again and i will be more dilligent. i do a spin class and dance class and some yoga. i ve heard strength training helps rev metabolism so im gonna give that a try.
Have you been keeping track of everything you eat? You might just need to trim a few calories here and there to jump start your metabolism. Maybe try changing your exercise routine as well. I don't have experience with eating low carb so I can't help you there. Good luck!
haven't been on site in a while but am back on the program! so need help turning 40 next august and dr says metabolism is slowing down because of age :( im going low carb on his suggestion and need support for the future low carb life. have gained 20 lbs. in the last 2 yrs and am really struggling to get it off. have been exercising 3 to 5 days a week since may and haven't lost a pound. hoping new way of eating will help.
