Great that you will be going down to use the Internet instead of being bored and eating. I was surprised on my vacation that I didn't use my laptop as much; I was involved in a series of books on my Nook so was sitting and reading more (and often munching chips; nothing like keeping one's hands wholly busy :-)

Today I chose Self.
Well I got up at 4:30 am to get in a workout before driving 6 hours to visit family. The drive didn't wear me out and I did some stretching when we would stop. I packed me some healthy food & snacks for thia trip/visit. We did stop to eat at Whataburger but I shared my meal with my daughter. So i'm making small changes. My goals for this visit is to get in exercise (walking), drink 8 (or more) glasses of water, eat 6 servings of fruits & veggies, no sweets & log my food in my magic notebook I brought from home. I also have my 100 days book with me so I can read and keep up with the team. I already met my goals for today.
I was tempted by the brownies & candy but I had watermellon instead. I left the scene (kitchen) before I could change my mind. I'm also here writing down my thoughts.
In the past I didn't come down to my sister in law's house to use her internet, I would just eat through my feelings and boredom. But this trip I bought my laptop and I'm going to be coming down here and using it to get my thoughts out, fight off boredom and ask for help.
Today I chose me .

LaShawn, now that you have been back awhile, how's it going? I remember going to Florida for the month of February, getting back the first week of March, it still took me over a month to get my home groove back :-) and I literally just fully unpacked last week!

Day 27. I got up way before the alarm clock. I'm so excited about going home. I'm going to do a workout before I go to the airport. I have my tools in place and i'm going to use them. My motto: Set yourself up for success!!!!

Day 26. I got up early & worked out. I'm doing Jr's laundry. I have a few more things to get done before tomorrow. I find that when I have things to do I don't think about food much. I guess the key is to keep busy doing something.

Day 24. I got up early & worked out. I started dinner for today and got some meals cooked for next week. I'll be going home on saturday and i'm trying to make things easier for the family. We've been running around trying to find things for Ashley's military ball saturday. I won't be here for it. Shopping can be exhausting but i'm thankful for the energy to do it.

Day 22. I got a peaceful sleep last night. I'm so thankful for that. I got up early and worked out. I have a lot to do this week before I go home on saturday. I'm thankful for having the energy to get things done.

Day 19. I got up at 5 and worked out. I took Lacey to the groomers. I get there and they have no walkin's for today. So I have to take her back on monday. Now I have to write out my bills and pay them. I also have to go and pick up my meds. Go to the store. I'm having a busy day. The kids are home. They can help me clean . I'm thankful for this day!!!

Day 18. Today is going good. I worked out before I ran errands. I got all of Jr's meds so he will ok while i'm gone. I have plans of cleaning, washing, cooking & packing next week, Lord willing. I find if I have things to do I don't think about food & the time. I feel soooo much better doing things and helping people out.

Day 17. Today is going well. I went clothes shopping today for my up comming trip back home. I had to go up a size . That was a humbling experience. I'm going to use this as motivation when I feel like giving up. I did tell my mom I was bringing my work out clothes & a dvd, so I can keep my exercising going. I'm also going to watch what I eat. I also found a congregation to go worship The Lord on sunday. Mom said she was going to go with me . God is good. I need to take better care of this body.

day 15. I worked out after I took Jr to school. I also went and ran errands. As I pulled in the driveway my brother in law called and said the school couldn't get Jr's sugar up. So off to the school I went. I took him home and had him recheck his sugar. It was back up (fine). So JD & I had our lunch. Now both kids are asleep. Glory be to God for giving me the strength to deal with this calmy instead of stressing out and eating behind it.

Day 14. I got up & walked up & down the stairs for 6 minutes. I felt the burn in my legs. My goal is to do this before I go to Church. If not I'll do it afterwards. I'm so thankful to God for the progress so far.

Day 13. I slept in this morning . It felt good. I'm about to workout and plan my day. I'm having a great attitude so far. One day at a time.....
I just had to write that I had one sample taste at Sam's club. It was a spinach, cheese & chicken sausage (low fat). It was good. Brian was eating my samples.
We're going to a birthday party later on. I'll have all my servings of fruits, veggies & water before I go.

Day 12. I ate lunch when my hunger scale was a 9 (stomach was growling). I wanted to eat veggie chips with my tunafish sandwich. Instead I had cucumber slices with it. I told myself if I wanted the chips I could have them after I was done. I didn't want them. I dodged a bullet today but I need to catch my hunger before it reaches a 9. I'm learning.

Day 10. Today is going good so far. My alarm clock didn't go off this morning. I guess I turned it off by mistake last night. I didn't get to workout early this morning. I got up at regular time and took my son to school. I came home and had breakfast. I gave myself time for the food to digest and then I worked out. I'm glad I got it done before it got to late in the day. I felt the burn of my lower body workout. I have my menu planned out. So now I need to find some chores to do .

Day 9. Today has been going good so far. I worked out after I took my son to school. My body feels sore from these workouts but i'm not complaining. I'm happy with my food choices. I went to the store and bought me some water, veggies, fruits & nuts for the week. I got some almonds and i'm going to incorporate them into my eating plan. It feels great being back

Day 6. Today has been good so far. We went to the mall today. I got a kids meal from Subway. I had a 3 inch wheat sandwhich with turkey, lettuce, tomatoes & mustard, apple slices (instead of a )and a water. I wasn't too hungry when I ate but it was enough to give me energy to finish shopping. I'm glad I didn't get winded from ALL that walking. I did do a workout before we left .

Day 4. Today was a good day. I went to visit my friend and she had some poundcake on the counter. It sure looked good. I had all kinds of thoughts running through my head. I was thinking about going off plan and starting anew tomorrow. Then I thought about how far i've come these past few days and did I really want to go back down that road over a piece of cake? I ended up saying no to the poundcake and walking away. I know that I only wanted it because it was there. I'm glad I won and not the food (sweets).

Day 3 and I'm moving right along. I got up at 5 this morning and did some housework before I worked out. It was good getting up and STAYING up. I had fun with the kids going places today. I wasn't tired or winded. I packed me some healthy snacks & a water bottle. My eating was good today.

Today was day 2 for me. I got up at 6 this morning and worked out at 7. That ab workout was tough. I couldn't do my watp dvd afterwards but I did go for a walk with my neighbor. I'm also doing good with my eating & mental state.

Today was of getting back on track. I worked out this morning . It was tough getting through the workout. When you haven't worked out in awhile it feels like the first time working out . I watched what I ate and wrote EVERYTHING down . Today was the first day I felt good about myself in a long time.

Day 2 Interested or Committed? I am committed. Committed means 'no matter what". I need to keep saying this to myself often. No matter what is going on around me I need to stay committed to my plan. I also need to eliminate the mike & ikes, gummy candy & cookies. They're trigger foods for me. It's hard for me to get back on track after bingeing on sugary stuff. I need to keep the word "committed" in the front of my mind.

Today I'm taking the wider road (Day 4- boundaries, not diets). I feel a cold coming on so i didn't do a workout video this morning. Instead i took a 20 minute walk with my husband and dog Lacey. I still got in my exercise eventhough it wasn't with a dvd. I'm also not using food as a comfort today. I'm keeping it light & healthy, drinking plenty of water and resting when needed.

Thank you!!!! I noticed a behavior yesterday. I'm going to call this a non-food trigger. If i'm on the computer for a long period of time i find myself getting restless. And if i read message boards (weight watchers)i find myself wanting to eat. Linda talked about this on day 61. She said "Even talking about how to avoid food can prompt the desire to eat". So now i will limit my time on the computer. I also noticed that once i got off the computer and did other things the desire to eat & the restlessness went away. I'm learning!!!

Thank you Kitt. Today was a really good day. I'm learning so much from these emotional eating chapters. I believe this will help me keep the weight off for good. Each day i strive to make choices that will cement me in this lifestyle change. Whether it be from my eating, exercising or my way of thinking.
Today i worked a chick fil a sandwich & a small strawberry shake in my eating plan. I enjoyed my sandwich and had 10 sips of my shake (just enough for the taste. I didn't want anymore than that). I didn't want the waffle fries so i made myself baked sweet potatoe fries & steamed okra. My lunch was very tasty & filling. It did what it was suppose to do.
It's a great feeling to know i can have fast food in moderation. I don't have to deprive myself. It also feels good to have self control. I didn't let my fast food meal trip me up to eat a bad dinner. I had no guilt attached and that's a beautiful thing!!!!

Hello Kitt. The shapewear was by a company called Ardyss. It's called body magic and you can lose up to 3 sizes. It takes 10 minutes to put on. My one friend tried the body magic on and you could tell the difference. And another lady tried the waist cincher on and you also could see a difference.
I had a moment today. When i was at the party yesterday one of the ladies said when she gets to the six week mark on her exercise & eating plan she wants to quit. I was the same way but mines was at the 8 week mark. So today i was thinking why is that. Well when i was getting dressed i noticed how loose my clothes are getting . Then i thought about how much energy i have to do things . In my mind, since i'm doing these things, i feel like i crossed the finish line. But i have to remind myself (in a gentle way) that i'm still over weight. I'm not at the finish line (yet) so i choose to keep on going, eventhough i'm looking & feeling good. I'm glad that went off. So Goal i have my eye on you

Thank you all!!!!!!! I also do little things for myself like giving myself a pedicure or a manicure, bubble baths in the jetted tub. Or lighting scented candles around the house. So i squeeze in something for myself often .
Well today my friend Pam had a body shaping party (body shapewear). I did really well on the food portions. I had half my plate filled with watermelon ,1 bbq wingette, 4 chips with a tablespoon of Rotel dip and plenty of water. I did eat before i went to the party making sure i got in some veggies . I had a good time with the ladies today.

I made my list of 10 things. 1-food. 2-God. 3-Brian Sr (support in him finding a job since he retired this year from the Navy). 4-Brian Jr (support in his medical needs). 5-Ashley (support in her dreams). 6-Reading. 7-Mr. Tony (spending time with friends). 8-Pam (spending time with friends). 9-shopping. 10- Keeping in touch with family.
Then i had to put food on the bottom of this list, 11-food. and put something important in the number 1 spot. 1-God.
I know with God first everything else will fall into place. With Him all things is possible. Also with this list i can find other things to do instead of eating.

You're Welcome. I'm on day 44. It's not the right time. This day really gave me time to pause. In the past when events would come up or life happened i would feel it wasn't the right time to work on me. But as time went on i realised that time still went on. I have a special needs son who has cystic fibrosis and was recently diagnosed with diabetes. I'm always going to have something going on in my life. I thank the Lord for being with me throughout all of this and all His blessings. So i'm going to take care of myself so that i can better take care of everyone else or the things that need to be done. Each day is a blessing to all. I'm going to make the most it. So for me Now is the time to a better me.

yeah, the 100 cal packs work well that way for me. the kettle corn are my favorite, probably b/c the sweet taste ;)
they are expensive, i try to watch & find them at 2 for $5 of the large 10 pack boxes and was thinking the kernel packages would be cheaper if i could just cook what i needed!
i had to stop buying the cheap boxes of brownies & cake mixes for now. i just could not stop at 1 serving.

I buy the 94% fat free Orville one and its pretty good, but I don't like a lot of salt so it might not be salty enough for some.....
I think the 100 cal packs are a good idea for portion control, but find they sure are spendy.. I try and make my own from the big bags, I get Gary to help or watch so I don't poke half of it in my mouth while I making them....lol I have been known to do that

The air popcorn has no taste. I told my husband to pick me up some 100 calorie pack popcorn. I like the Kettle corn. They do have marshmallow popcorn that i love. I'll have that in moderation because i can eat the whole bag.

Hi LaShawn, wow! 39 days already? time sure flies & you are doing so well with the ideas! i love how you handled the bbq & DQ! especially DQ!!! LOL
well, maybe more is the veggies & sweets. i think pms is the hugest trigger for me other than strong negative emotions. it has a real physical hormonal basis that triggers us sometimes b4 we even realize what's happening. well done :)
here's a little article that helps my strategy... i tend to go for popcorn & cold cut veggies @ this time...

Thank you Jannie . I just want to get my thoughts down. Yesterday i was wanting to eat cookies & funyuns. I still had some fruit & veggies i needed to get in. So i told myself after i get in all my healthy stuff if i still wanted the junk food i can have it. So i did that and when it was time to eat the junk food i sat and thought about if i really wanted to eat that. The answer was no. Then i thought about why all of a sudden i wanted it in the first place. Well some months before TOM gets here i get cravings for certain things. When i would eat them in the past they never satisfied me. So i ended up eating a soyjoy (which was good by the way) and had a cup of tea.
Today i feel better. Not wanting cookies or chips. I know i can have those things but i want to make sure i really want them, and not eating them just because. I don't want to use TOM as a excuse to go wild on my eating.

Thank you Kitt. Well today life happened. We got invited to a bbq. We went by there early and hung out for about 2 hours. Nobody was cooking the food. So i came home and got the kids. While i was waiting for them i had me a healthy lunch. I packed me some healthy snacks in my purse. We went back over and stayed for an hour and a half. Half the people went swimming. Still no one was cooking the food. So my daughter had plans tonight. So i brought her back home to change and drove her to a party. I ate grapes on the way. It's now 5:45pm. I drop her off and stop by our friends house. Everybody is back from swimming but no food is cooked. So i said my good-byes and me & my son drives home. I had me a healthy dinner. I left my husband at the bbq. They said they will send me a plate by him. The old me would of went of plan and had anything. They did have chips there but i passed. I'm proud of myself for being mindfull of the things i'm learning and aplying them to my life.

I DID IT!!!!!!! I did the 2 bite rule. My daughter wanted to go to Dairy Queen today after school. I ate the rest of my banana before we went. Everyone had ice-cream and i got a bottled water. My son had ice-cream in a cup. I got two bites (spoonfuls) of his and enjoyed them. I didn't feel tempted while watching them eat their ice-cream because i knew if i wanted my own i could get one. I didn't want a whole ice-cream. I'm very proud of myself for making these small changes. Each step is bringing me closer to my lifestyle change goal.I can do this, I can do this, I can do this.

after years of crash dieting with rigid rules, i have a real hard time thinking about cutting out my favorite foods forever. it really is freedom to know we can eat some, just not too much! i love her ideas about this :)

Thank you Kitt. I'm going to practice this exercise when i go to parties or eating out. I sometimes skip the bread basket & chips. But now reading the postpone eating page i look at things differently. I can always have some of the food but i'll wait awhile before taking the first taste. This goes for sweets also. I like how she incorporates your favorite things in your eating. She doesn't have you deny any one food. She teaches us a smarter way to have them. Lifestyle change.

Hearing about fast food = want to eat it. Before you would have.
That was b4, but now you're different!!! (didn't eat the fast food, ate what you planned :)

Today i was talking to my neighbor and the subject of food came up. I wanted to eat some fast food for dinner. I was surprised how the mention of food could trigger such a reaction. I ended up eating what i already planned for myself. I'm glad i did. I have to be very mindful of that.
