Oh - I had to laugh - I always tell people I am on my journey to get healthy for my kids, so I don't get diabetes after after having the gestational kind with both my pregnancies. But deep down, a big part really is the cute clothes!
I had lost 30 pounds and have regained almost half. Wasn't that far into the weight loss regain when a friend of mine unexpectedly took his life last June. All exercise stopped, ice cream seemed to comfort me most, and I realized it was time to stop and focus again. I want to live a healthy life, so started again January first. I have had setbacks again as I took a nasty spill 2 weeks ago and reinjured an old ankle problem, but am going to begin again with exercising tomorrow.

I know all too well about the set backs that life can bring so this time I have vowed to squeeze in some kind of movement when ever I can. I am mom and a dayhome provider so between chasing/changing/feeding etc. toddlers all day long I also have to take care of my own family. Needless to say, time is at a premium for me. I am so happy to have found SparkPeople because I can easily sit or stand at my kitchen table with my computer, resistant bands or dumbbells and do 10 mins here or there following along with some of the videos I've found on the site. What does this mean for me? No more excuses. Don't set your expectations too high coming out of the gate and you will begin to feel better and try harder and eventually see some results. My advise would be to start off trying to feel better not skinny.
I have had success and failures. I am at the point now that I hate to start again cause i just am tired of failing. I am doing alright with my eating now, just can't get the exercise bug. Glad to see you found the will to try again. di

I started my weight loss last summer (June 2012) and was doing really good. I made sure to get outside everyday and workout. My mother passed away unexpectedly Aug. 8th and it caused me to have a set-back. I quick working out because of all the stress and craziness going on in my life. I am also going to college full-time while being a stay at home mom with my youngest daughter. I finally decided that I'm sick of trying on 50 different outfits before I settle for the one that makes me look the least fat! I am ready for cute clothes, and to feel comfortable in my skin! I also want my kids and husband to see me healthy! I loved using sparkpeople when I started my journey and have stumbled back to try and get it done this time!
