Sounds like you are ready to put a plan in place....as for eating cheap, one of the best suggestions I have is to start out "repeating" recipes during the week, that way you don't have to have so many separate ingredients, you can cook once but eat twice, and it's easy to log your meals!
What are your exercise goals? Protein shakes are always a great start to the day, or as a nice snack before or after a workout - just don't load them up with too many calories!
