Morning all, I am a single mother of two, working to stay on a healthy track... i am trying to help regulate the appropriate intake of calories so that i dont apply any more pounds to these hips...looking forward to this adventure. Hello, new Spark member here. I was diagnosed Type 2 diabetic in Nov 2012. Hate diets, food buying and menu planning.
This team forum is right me, one day at a time...! I think I may be able to handle that.
Diagnosed with NASH Feb 2012. Since then I have lost 33 pounds, no special diet, just selection and portion control.
I fear my selections will now be the biggest challenge ever... :-(.
Looking forward to achieving "some" 1 Day Challenges.

Hi my name is Beth. I live in Iowa. I'm 43 years old and I am terribly over weight and out of shape. every time I start this I go good for awhile then i get lazy slip back into my old habits. This time I know I can do it especially if I keep the mind set of one day at a time. My husband is also participating too but unknowingly. (Here here). So tomorrow I will start the water challenge.. hopefully Thursday after work I can hit the gym. Reason why Thursday my sweats are in dirty clothes and I have to work tomorrow and its Christmas and I ain't doing laundry. I cooked and cleaned now it is time to relax.

Doing this for me, so I can be there for them!

Hi all, my name is Lynn. I am 30 years old. I have three little boys ages 5,7,9 and I work as a nurse. I love challenges and anything that gets the motivation kicked in. I have lost 56 pounds since February of this year but have stalled out and fallen back into some of my old bad habits and lost my motivation to workout. Hi~ I'm Sandra from Indianapolis. I joined Spark back in 2010 and then fell off the wagon. Came back on Nov. 12 and everything is starting to click. Tracking calories faithfully, eating healthy, and working now on getting fitness goals in order. I am trying to be more active and healthy, come out of the pre-diabetes and pre-hypertension range...which means watching cholesterol, sodium (which raises my blood pressure), sugar and caffeine intake.

I enjoy creating mixed-media art, especially altered art and collage. I enjoy scrapbooking from time to time, reading, and learning new things. My motto is to do something creative every day. I'm looking forward to new challenges....Like creative prompts, they help me move forward. :)

Current Challenges:
Veggie: Eat at least 4 a day
30 Day: Stay hydrated, Lose 8 lbs. by Jan 1st, Walk 5 miles a week, Strength train 3x week
Health: Take vitamins/supplements daily

Weight Loss:
since 2010 - 20lb. lost
since starting SP 11-12-2012 - 7lb. lost
Total: 27lb.
Goal: 120lb. by 11-7-2013

Im Renee from Georgia-married for 30 years to the greatest man in the world, 5 kids, 6 grandkids and learning new things about myself every day! My hobbies/passions are working out, photography, guns (mostly pistols) storm chasing and spending time with my fantastic husband. (and not necessairly in that order---it varies daily LOL) I like to have fun ini everything I do. I work as a property and maintenanace supervisor for the city, as well as teach sunday school at my church 6, 7 and 8 year olds. I totally love it!

Hi! I'm Julie, I'm 43 and am very sedentary. I sit at a desk most of the day, which has really contributed to my weight gain over the past few years. I've decided to take control and shed these pounds for a variety of reasons but mostly..health and vanity! ;)

I had my picture taken last night and someone posted it on facebook this morning. I was in a group of people and I was wearing a short-sleeved tshirt. All I could see was how my upper arm looked so....ugh, flabby! So my daily goal is to tone up my arms, while I continue with my healthier eating habits. One step at a time! ;)

Hello, I’m Jessica and this is my 5th alter ego with Sparkpeople. I felt it was necessary because after losing 40 lbs earlier this year (Jan-Apr) with Spark, I fell off the wagon. I went from 216 to 224.8 where I started back up this week. Now my ultimate goal is to hit 160, but I want to eat better, lose the stress, and reduce the to-do’s on my to-do list of life. Which as a mother, volunteer, employee, business owner, wife, sister, etc…… (we all wear many hats), the list is never ending. I am looking for supportive friends, who won’t hesitate to kick my butt!

Good evening!

I just joined SparkPeople....AGAIN. Every time I started, I was losing weight, but an obstacle always seemed to come up while I was losing weight and I wasn't able to continue losing weight. Instead I'd put more on. The last time I started was in May. I was on track and lost 7 pounds. Then I found out I was 6 weeks pregnant at the end of May. I guess that kind of gave me an excuse to eat what I want when I want (not the right thing to do haha). In mid June, I had a miscarriage which caused me to gain more weight to eat away the pain and my depression got worse. I'm starting SparkPeople again for a fresh start to lose weight, feel better, and be a better person. This time I'm going to continue no matter what happens. I want this one day challenge to help push me to be the best person I can be while I lose weight.

A healthy new challenge every day and a place to hold myself accountable for them - looks like a perfect team for me!
