I've lost 12.5 pounds since I reset my goals and um, started working at it! I could be going faster - should be going faster to meet my target goal weight by my birthday (Sept), but I am still steadily heading in the right direction.

My nutrition is good. I need more exercise. I am so sedentary. I've been working on the PC for 14 hours and have only taken 3,800 steps today. (My butt is totally numb!)

I boxed up more of my fat clothes to give away. I swear not to ever buy bigger sizes again or to keep fat clothes in my closet. If I can't fit into what I have I need to fix the problem NOW!

We are all making success an option - how great if that?!

I'm still losing weight - I can pull up my jeans without unzipping them! I'm looking pretty frumpy with baggy pants and a big shirt to cover them, but for me it means real progress!

Well I started 2 weeks ago and I've lost 13lbs. My husband and I are committed to this new lifestyle. We just tried spaghetti squash! What?!? It was actually really good. I introduced some of my friends at work to this site and we are having a weight loss contest. Just a friendly competition to keep us motivated. emoticon

In this season of excess, it's especially important to reward ourselves with a pat on the back from ourselves and others when we do the right thing and resist or reduce the serving size of 'bad' foods. Or keeping up with your fitness achievements. Stop by and share.

I am slowly gaining momentum on my sugar. I absolutely refuse to buy the next size up clothes, so I only have 1 pair of pants that fits me. Yesterday I cut my sugar in half by sharing the treat with my husband instead of hiding the whole thing for myself.

Not at all easy to quit smoking. But that is wonderful for you and the weight loss as well. Keep at it. I quit smoking over a year ago and gained a lot of weight that I am working on taking off.

I visited my kidney doc for a checkup the other day and she was very pleased with my test results. Even though I haven't found the motivation to stay away from sugar, I've been working very hard and staying away from all the other hard-on-kidneys foods.

I have been so busy this week... today I stepped on the scale and I am 256.5 .. I was truly surprised ..lost 1.5 lbs even when quitting smoking... I am totally off the patch now and have been smoke free for 5 1/2 days!!

Claire.. it's just day by day, for all of us, I suspect... and as much consistency and mindful, healthy eating as I can do. I like the view that it's not a diet, but a necessary health improvement and lifestyle change. But thanks for your kind words.

It's been a while since I posted... blame it on the good things.. the end of a very successful school year, some travel, and a brand new granddaughter. Life is good.

Since January I've learned a lot about staying healthy.. in retrospect I find it great that I've not had a single cold or illness.. maybe another side effect of eating mindfully and being more active. My knees don't hurt, I can do stairs much more easily... and I've lost 61 pounds. Lots more to go, but it feels good. But mostly what I've learned is that a minor indulgence here and there (very occasionally) isn't the end of the world.. in fact, the progress goes on... and I am learning to trust my judgment in this!

And Arizona is on the edge of monsoon... which makes me very happy!!!

Tomorrow is my weekly weigh-in, but it's a hectic day, as it's also pay day and the beginning of the month, so I thought I'd slip this in now. I just checked my monthly fitness minutes for May - I've been tracking since the 17th - and I'm at 3,212. Really surprised me how fast they added up!

I've really stepped up my cardio - in the past month, I pretty much went from zero to 10,000 steps a day. Mostly, I used SP cardio videos and walking outside. Patting myself on the back.

Hi everyone, I'm Kimberly from Cottonwood, AZ. Enjoying being back where it's warm and a body can have fun all year round. For the second time this school year, my daughter who is a freshman and all of 5'1, made the varsity team. First it was basketball, now she's made the varsity track team. Awesome! emoticon

Emotion may help us get started in the right direction, but it is rarely there at the finish line. Sooner or later we must press forward without the support of emotion and employ discipline.

Making progress. Since I got "re-committed" on January 4 (we came back to school then), I've lost about 17.6 pounds.... no slips on the eating plan. Where I see/feel the biggest change is that my knees don't hurt nearly as much, I can walk farther and faster and do better on stairs. I sleep better, feel better in intangible ways.

What I need to do.... exercise more. That's the next major step and I need to commit to it fully and find a way to schedule appropriately. So this is what I'm working on now.

But life is GOOOOOOOOOD! One of my colleagues even mentioned how much better I looked and my students are behind me every ounce of the way. Good kids!

I am new to this site and came looking for support in maintaining a 30 lb loss. I am at goal and right now am under a couple lbs the last several days at 133.......not trying to do that, just maintain! Not as easy as it might seem. One day at a time and always keeping a balance of foods.

Eating healthy majority of the time and now during maintenance, I allow some treat meals and small carbs now and then. Mostly eating chicken breast, salads, fish, eggs, extra lean pork etc with lots of veggies, fresh fruit like apples/grapes/pears, activia light fruit flavored yogurt for snacks, green tea. Cook with Pam, "I know it's not butter" spray, and sprayed olive oil. Trying for no "added sugar". Calories are usually around 1200/day.....and higher on treat days.

Not sure how I did it but lost 8lbs last week. I'm over half way to my goal weight and excited about the 2nd half of my weight loss. Never would have thought I could lose so much weight without any gimmicks, pills, or nonsense in just over 4 months. Just working out, only water and coffee and a different eating plan. I'm actually back into a pair of jeans I haven't worn in 5 yrs and really excited!!

Did you maintain while on vacation?
Did you lose a .25 inch on your thigh?
Did you work out 5 more minutes today?
Did you run after your kids and not feel out of breath for the first time?

Whatever progress you've made in getting healthy we want to know about it! Brag about your success - let others know what good things and positive changes are happening for you!

Need a little motivation? Look at what others are accomplishing and know that you can do it too!
