I just paid the money and joined this website activity. I need to communicate alot about my dieting struggles. I crave communication and sparkpeople and shrink yourself forums, etc. are a perfect fit for me.
I hope lots more people join this team. Chris emoticon

The move is DONE. And, finally, the condo has sold! Two big goals met! But moving & selling the "old" condo has been a rough ride. I had to deal with problems and have to be diligent about caring for myself. Hoping not eating gluten/sugar will help my mood, pain, energy level.
GOAL: Reduce A1C,BP,tryglicerides,and weight. HOW? Low carb plan with lots of veggies and water aerobics at least 3X week. I was doing this but moving stress has halted my good habits. Time to get this going again. I

Hi Deanna,

Welcome to the team. You might consider also taking the Shrink Yourself online course. They send you a guided session each week, have an online "hunger coach", and we have a very active forum there.

I found the book helpful but not nearly as life changing as taking the course with the structure and support to really help me apply it. I believe you can sample the course at

For me, the cost of the course was way, way cheaper than the costs I would have spent continuing to emotional eat.

Welcome Deanna! It is nice to meet you. Personally I use the book as a reference from time to time- pick up the book and read a chapter here and there. The team is not very active- posts come and go. Usually when someone posts a message there is response but they we kind of peter out...

Good Morning! My name is Deanna, and I got this book right after it came out. I never got past chapter 3 the three different times I tried to read it.

I liked it - I just lost my motivation. So I am so glad to find a support group focused on this book! It will be awesome to have a book study with others :)
