Hi everyone, I am brand new here. I've read Gould's website and I've ordered the book. It is due to arrive next week. Has anyone done the online plan? Any recommendations as far as doing both, or doing one before the other?

I'm new too & have had a huge awakening with the book - it's amazing how much I attributed my size to just weight and food but not emotions.

Welcome Judy! Glad you are enjoying the book. Take time and explore yourself- I have learned a lot of lessons on how I 'operate' and what has made me eat in the past. Learning about your emotions is worth taking time for. No quick fixes- but all very enlightening and worthwhile. Please keep us updated on your thoughts and discoveries.

Welcome, Judy! When you get there, keep working the program in the second part. Some people have big turnarounds; some re-read lessons and their responses, and add to them, making gradual changes. I hope we can support you in what you need on the way.

My experience with the book is that it takes some time to wade through all the emotional eating triggers. But it's such an improvement already!

Someone mentioned this book on another forum. I was very interested and started reading the "SY" website. Not being in a financial position to spend $120 for the online course, I decided to buy the book. I have read the first 50 pages or so, and like most of you, it definitely is all "me". I am hoping that part 2 of the book where real tools are given to actually work on the problem (versus just being aware of what I am doing) will help me turn this "thing" around once and for all!

Looking forward to getting to know you all and hope it is life changing for me, too!
