Hi everyone
I started sparks about 6 months ago, I have had a break as I have just finished the on line shrink yourself. The good thing is I have lost 10lb I don't no if its because of the programme or that I have just got a dog and have something to take my mind of eating. I do no the reasons why I emanation eat but now the trouble is what to do about them. I've worked out it is my relationship with my partner, boredom low self esteem and feeling lonely. Well I'm back and determined to sort myself out and will be happy to give and receive support.

I'm so glad you have made good use of the book. Dr. Gould has interviews on YouTube that I find interesting. I've taken the book and marked it with a Yellow Marker like a textbook and written LOTS of notes in it.

He says we will all have STRESS to deal with and we must learn how and not turn to food. I find his book so helpful just for that reason alone. EVERYONE has stress and many people could use his book, as FOOD isn't the only thing people turn to for stress relief.

I've been on Sparkpeople for about 6 months. Before that I spent 6 months working on my emotional eating and just looking at the reasons (not worrying about my nutrition). Then I started Sparkpeople. One of the tools I used while looking at my emotional eating was 'Shrink Yourself' so I was really excited to find this board. I look forward to working with you and keeping my emotions out of my diet.

I've done well for the last 4-5 months but the last week or 2 I find myself struggling. I can remember the queues from the book- I am 'rebelling' so to speak. But I need to get back to my focus. Life is too short to waste (or waist!) on food.

If you win 51% of the battles you have won the war.
