I'm in the same boat. I don't have such a problem with candy bars and ice cream; most of my temptations are homemade. Right now I have some cookies in the freezer and frosting in the fridge. Talk about sugar overload! I just can't bring myself to get rid of all of it because I have 2 sons who don't have the addiction or weight problems that I do and I love to bake for them. Fortunately, they are grown and I don't see them very often (one of them is in the Army and deployed to Afghanistan again) but I like to make them cookies whenever I can.

The one thing I am trying to focus on is how the food I eat makes me feel. When I eat good wholesome food that is close to it' natural form I feel energized. But when I eat the processed items I feel like it is like a blog in my stomach and I feel weighted down.
I have not been very good at tracking because it has been taking so much of my time, but when I do I like to look at the nutrients to see how I am doing. Over and over it is shows me that I eat too much fat and sugar.
My problem with sugar is a little different. When I didn't track for a couple of weeks, I ate many candy bars and other sugar laden foods. As long as I know I have to write it down, I keep the number of treats down. I'm trying to get down to one or two treats a week. Or better yet, I rather not I got the sweetness that I crave in granola, whole grain cereal or fruit. I didn't gain weight when I didn't track. I ate sweets instead of more healthy type foods. Still, it wasn't good for my body. I feel sick, weak, etc. My skin even felt wrong.

I am too addicted to sugar. I can eat it all the time. I know its bad but it does takes taste so good. I once gain about 12 lbs in about a 2 month time period. I got to kick this. Good luck to you and me and the rest that are trying to kick the sugar.
Welcome to the team! Cutting sugar out is so hard because it is in so many foods and junk food is everywhere! I am learning to tame my sweet tooth by feeding my body the nutrients it needs. I am tired of being drawn to foods that are not good for me.
It is time we fight back and tame the sweet tooth and put it in its proper place.
Hey there, I have been addicted to sugar for as long as I can remember. I am 41 yrs old and my main component of my diet is sugar. I know how bad sugar is for me and I hate the way it makes me feel, but good golly, it tastes so darn good !!!! I am hoping to give and receive encouragement and accountability from being part of this team.
