Sorry about the fall :( Those are so nasty. This team is about those who love step aerobics, usually taken in group fitness classes indoors, or using DVD's inside your own home. There is probably a team devoted just to walking and counting steps. To find people in your city, search for the Chicago team and join it. This team has people from all over the US in it and I am from Canada myself.
Good luck with your goals and getting back into walking after an injury. I personally love walking the river trails in my city.
