Hi Di, You can buy canned veggies, fruit & meat. I put canned beef or chicken w/ Ranch beans and my daughter loves it. We have veggies on the side. We go to the 99cent store for canned food. Canned meat is expensive, but you need meat. I get that at Costco. If you know anyone who has a Costco card, you can go with them. You will need to use money though, not food stamps. Look for sales for canned meat on sale at grocery stores so you can use your food stamps. Potatoes, tomatoes, apples, bananas don't need a fridge. Some others too, for a while. I eat some Ramen sometimes if it's under 300 calories. I add canned veggies & some meat. Hope there is freecycle online there. You can put up a message- Wanted: working microwave. Maybe you could even get a little fridge on there. I have more ideas but can't remember now. Will add them soon. ~Susan

Hi! I'm Di. I'm 57, I have about 70 pounds to lose and I need some help.
I'm new to Tucson; I moved here the end of March. I'm currently living in a rented room (until my significant other can find work and we can get an apartment). So, I need weight loss meal ideas that don't require refrigeration or freezing and can be prepared in a microwave and as my income is poverty level I buy most of my food with food stamps.
The future is not some place we are going to, but one we are creating. The paths to it are not found but made, and the activity of making them changes both the maker and the destination.
