Hey everyone, I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. I am in the SP Class of March 30th-April 4th, and I am stepping up to help be a co-leader for this team. Since joining Spark back in April, I've dropped 30lbs and have no desire to go look for it. If you ever need motivation, or someone to talk to, just look for me. I am a stay at home mom with nothing better to do, and this site has become my sanity. Good luck in achieving all your goals everyone.

I joined Sparks the first week of July and it has changed my life. For those of you who work full time, how do you do it? Hi everyone! I'm a 19yr old college student hoping to change my lifestyle and become fit and fabulous =) I joined Sparkpeople on July 1st but haven't posted. must say...I love love LOVE the site and it has now become a part of my life. I'm hoping to go from a size 18/20 to 10, increase my activity levels, join as many challenges as I can, and make this a PERMANENT lifestyle change. emoticon

Hello!! I have been a SP memebr since the 4th of july, woo hoo. I stayed home and cried. Because I could't eat anything but air!!
Well I am pretty well over all that whooeey!! I am re learning to cook. I am a true foodie a paula deen kinda cook, get it, butter and cream gotta own a cow!!
I am 48 and shooting for goal before my 50th birthday. I plan on hitting Vegas on a dancing frenzy and wearing a bathing suit!! I am doing WW and thourghly enjoying all the articles and support on SP.

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance. Remember Dance like no one is watching!!

Hey ya'll, I'm a 33 yr young mom of a 13 yr old son(lives in WA) and 6 yr old daughter. I'd say I'm sort of a single parent. My husband is always deployed - daughter is 6yrs and he's been around for less than 2yrs of her life. Eating right, staying in shape for her sake. What parents do, children follow...mama duck baby duck. Easier to keep up with everything if it's logged so here we are!

Hi everyone, I've been on SP for a couple of weeks now. If anyone has any suggestions on ways to increase my fat intake without using nuts, that would be great. It's the one nutrient I don't seem to get enough of.

Hi, my name is Dawn. I joined SP a few weeks ago now. I have been following WW since Feb 4. I started at 244, and I'm now down to 196. I find it difficult to track the nutritional information as a mom working full-time with two small children. I like counting my weight watchers points. I do like SP for tracking fitness though. Anyone in a similar situation.

Hi all. I just joined Sparks on July 1st when a friend from my MPS Forum told us about it and formed a group.

In the last 6 1/2 years, since our son, Caleb, was diagnosed with a very rare disease (MPS I- Hurler Syndrome), I have put on alot of weight. A combination of stress, meds (that apparently gaining weight is a side effect of) and finally laying down cigarettes, has not helped. But in April 2007, I finally got tired of feeling bad, and after our son's back surgery, I started taking him on walks in his wheelchair. As he started recovering and got tired of the heat, I went to walking the treadmill, and eventually ended up in the gym. To date, I've lost 58 lbs., but I've kindof stalled. Now I need to get the calories right.

Lord, Keep your arm around my shoulder,and your hand over my mouth...AMEN..!!

Hi all, I started last week on the 1st of July (my new January 1st, I've decided), but I haven't been here yet. My name is LeAnn and I am a SAHM with 5 kids. We made a 1000 mile move last summer from a place we hade lived for 10 years. With new state, new city, new house, came new weight also. First it was too hot to get out and move and then it was too snowy, and now I'm hoping its not too late to get rid of it. Welcome, I'm new too. How many pounds in a stone? There is British TV program "You are what you eat" and they measure weight in "stone". The TV program is on cable tv and is really motivating. In my area in Florida it is on channel 153. Check it out.

Start by logging in everything you eat - portion control and choices are the key to weight loss. But remember, not all calories are created equal. Drink all your water - it really does help. I am a mother of 2 boys 8 and 12 and married for 14 yrs. I have been overweight ever since I can remember. I am currently using the 6 week body makeover program and it has been a big help for me. Before when I would start a diet I was not able to stick with it or if I got off the diet for a family get together I was never able to get back on track. With this program I am and it has even helped get rid of some of the cravings I would have on a daily basis. I am still learning my way around the website so far I like it and will have to let my cousin know she is the one who told me about it. Since I started my new eating plan last year I have lost almost 30 pounds and have went from a size 24 or 26 not real sure which one I was in because the 24's were tight I am now in a size 20 and only have one pair of shorts that size that are a little snug I even lost a shoe size too. Just glad last week is over and I can get back on track. We leave on the 29th for our vacation and I have 5 pounds I have been fighting with for months now to get rid of do yall have any ideas for what I can do?

hi, i'm very new to this site and still trying to work my way around it.
I'm emma 30 from coalville leicestershire. i live with my partner and 22 month old son.
I have always been a big girl but now i want to change for myself and also so i can keep up with my ever demanding son(he loves to play football)I hopefully want to get down to 11 1/2 st....so i have 4 stone to shed!
I completed race for life yesterday (fast walking) but it has spured me on so much to do more exercise and am determind to jog/run it next year!!

Hi everyone, My name is Evelyn most call me Evey. I am finally on the right track to living a healthy life. I am the heaviest I have ever been and I am tired of looking and feeling blah. I have no energy. I currently weigh 219 lbs. Insane. I have achieved yesterday drinking 9 glasses of water and having no soda. I exercised two days in a row. I feel very good. I noticed that my cranky attitude has diminished some. Hey that is a plus. I am really am excited about this website. I feel I am in total control. What a sweet feeling.

Hi, I am a new member to SP. I joined 5-6 days ago, I think. I have introduced myself to some groups but not to all my SPTeams. I am a 40+ mother of 2. I was doing well with my weight until the past two years. I had lost weight, bought a new wardrobe and decided I was not going to over eat ever again. Then, I got a new boss. I have been stressed and feeling like I don't meet any of her standards. As a result, I have turned to chocolate, cakes, cookies whatever to help me feel better. While this helps for a short term fix in the way I'm feeling, it has caused more problems. I have gained 30 lbs. and feel terrible about the fact that I can't wear any of my clothes that I purchased when I lost 15 lbs 3 years ago. So, now I decided to try Spark People because I kept hearing advertisements on the radio. I figured, "What have I got to lose?". So, I joined. I really like the food tracker and the exercise tracker. They help me to see what I'm actually eating. The healthy lifestyle section is helping to retrain my brain to make better food choices. This time, I think I'll be able to lose the weight and keep it off for ever. All the tools I need are right here! emoticon I look forward to working with you all so we can become healthier and lose the weight that we want.

Hi Everyone! My name is Maria, I don't remmebre if I already introduced myself to the group.... but here I go again(if I did). Anyways... I am here because I need to lose 50-55 pounds by the end of the year. I seriously need help in achieving my goal and motivating myself to do it. I could start my day pretty good, and end up ruining it. I have a question though..... is about the plan designed for us to follow.... Sometimes I would like to change certain things, and when I go to screen to change them... I find choices that either I don't like or eat at all... for the last week I have tried to keep up with the plan, but many times didn't have some of the ingredients and ended up eating something else. I just wanted to know if there is a way to log what u eat and calculate the calories,eventhough these items might not be in your plan? If anyone can help qith the uestion, I really appreciate it.

Hi, my name is Irina. I'm 29, married, and have a beautiful 3-year old daughter. A year and a half after she was born, I lost the extra 25lbs I gained during pregnancy plus an extra 10lbs. I managed to keep the weight off for almost a year and a half, but this past winter I gained 5-7lbs and cannot seem to shake them off. A friend on LJ recommended this site.

Hi y'all. I'm Heather and I'm new here. I am 34 year-old mother of 2 beautiful little girls. I've married to my DH for almost 9 years (this December). I've struggled with my weight all of my life. The past 10 - 15 years have been really bad though and I've packed on a ton of weight. Anyway, I guess I just quit caring about myself. But not anymore! I want to set a good example for my girls and want to be able to go out in public again without feeling ashamed. I want to have more energy and I want to be happy with myself again. I've got lots of work ahead of me, but I know I can do it this time!! I'm really excited about this community and can't wait to get started!

Hi I have just joined. I work full time, am married with a 6 yr old son and turned 30 last year and have realized that my weight is affecting my quality of life. It's not like I didn't realize I was gaining weight, I think at some point I just quit caring. I care now. I want to run and play with my son and not be out of breath. I don't want to be the fat mom anymore. I want to really believe my husband when he says I love you just way you are. I want to look good on the outsideand feel good on the inside.

Hi guys and gals, I've just rejoined SP. I'm a stay at home (uh, when am I at home?) mum of 3, one at school. I was on sp but left when I started on some medication that meant I couldn't exercise. So still have 8kg to lose. Off we go! I'm going to get a gym membership in the next few weeks, and that will speed things up. Nice to meet you all:)

I've joined SP today (July 5th). To become healthier for myself and my family. I have tried several diets and can't seem to commit and achieve my goals. Today I hope to start achieving my weight loss goal of 95 lbs and do so by July 4th 2009.

When I found SP, I kept saying that I was going to get serious about losing some weight - and I did - for about 1 day - this site and the people here have kept me on track and accountable - I'm sure you can find the same accountability. Welcome - one of the best things about SP that I have found is the community of other people on the journey to a healthy and fit life - there is so much accountability here and you will find lots of challenges and mini-challenges on various teams. It is what has kept me with my program.

Hey y'all! I'm Nicole, from FL. I tried using SP once before but it only lasted about a week because I got too bogged down and confused by everything that is here. I think now, though, if I really give it a try and figure out what I'm doing on here it will be better!

Let's see, I'm 30, married 4 years, Husband is Navy, no kids (yet), I'm the heaviest I've ever been and I'm Maid of Honor in a beach wedding in October! YIKES!! In a previous life I was a pretty decent athlete, HS Swim Team captain, track, volleyball... Somewhere along the way I left her behind though, 'm still searching for her. I have more recently done some endurance events (marathons, triathlons) but it was more about finishing than actuallyracing or running. DOn't get me wrong, I am damn proud of my FINISH, now I just want to finish with a 1/2 decent time :)

I'm an emotional eater which kills me. Hubby leaves, so I eat. I gain weight so I eat. I get stressed so I eat. UGH! Bad thing is I know I'm doing it but at the moment, don't care. I'll tell myslef "I'll strt over again tomorrow" then tomorrow I feel like crap because of what I did today and it cycles.

OK time to really start this thing called life :)

I've gained an average of about three pounds a year since I quit smoking in 1991. More of it in the last three years since the beginning of menopause. Glad I quit but I want to feel comfortable in a bathing suit and go snorkeling etc. again. I look forward to mutually supporting each other.

Hey Linda I myself am a newbie to SP but would like to tell you that I know where you are comming from. I tried the gym thing bought numerous videos etc etc. Then I saw an advertisement for an outdoors(regardless of rain, snow, or shine) fitness group that only uses resistance bands. I love it!!! The thing that keeps me going and happy to go is the comrodarie and the fact that I have come to learn that if I want to be fit and happy I need to surround myself with people I want to be like. In the past I would avoid physically fit women because I felt unattractive when the truth is that now I feel more attractive than ever before. I also ended all of my unhealthy relationships. Just remember to surround your self with people you want to be like.

Hello. I've been lurking the past couple of days and playing around on my spark page and thought I better post my introduction. I'm 44 and looking for motivation that I seem to have lost. I previously lost 100 lbs doing the weight watcher's plan on my own with my husband and then just lost my way. I've gained about 28 lbs back and it's time to get moving again. (Moving figuratively at the moment - I have an injured ankle that's healing and stopping my exercise pretty cold.) But anyway, here I am! Looking forward to seeing what SparkPeople has to offer!
