When i first came to SP, I was confused like crazy. Don't worry, things will begin to make sense. There are 3 parts of this program. The first is your own data--what you have eaten, how much water, exercise minutes, and your activity in the community and in learning about all of those areas. You go to the top of this thread and pull down the menu on "My Tools." The second item is My Nutrition and that is where you will be able to get nutritional information. Fill in the menu form with the things you have eaten or use it to plan your menu. This is also a great resource for exercise with videos and directions. A third thing that you can find is a lot of information on health, motivation, wellness, etc... The fourth area is "community" and you can find others to chat with, send spark mails to also. There are teams who have threads you can start and/or post on--asking questions about issues that are important to you.
It takes a while to know how to find everything, but you can do this and in a day or two, you will learn how to navigate and get where you'd like to be.
