I agree (and thanks for all the welcomes). My girls are now doing wall pushups when they see me come out of the bathroom - they think it is funny. Also, when we're in the US, we go to playgrounds and I used to walk the perimeter of the playground to get cardio. This won't work with tiny ones, but I was surprised how much walking I could get it (and sometimes *I* didn't want to leave the playground so I could get more mileage in :)) just walking the perimeter of the grounds (always with the kids very much in sight).
Have you tried having the kids exercise with you? It's really cute, makes it lots more fun, and they are troopers to help you out!!!!!!! Make it a daily game!!!!!!!! Wish you could see our 3 yr old grandson doing pushups with his dad!!!!!!!!! hehe Then, you can exercise w/o them too! Many years ago, I had a day care in our home,and the kids LOVE "helping" you!
Welcome Kathy glad to have you here. I have children myself 7and 12. I do daycare at home. I know how hard it is to lose with children around all the time. And then when they are gone all I want to do is relax. I am trying to change that. I am trying to exercise when the children are gone. Bad habit to break.
You are on the right track. I like your realistic outlook with your goals. Start with baby steps and build on them.

We're getting ready for hurricane season again and this time of year is really hard to exercise, but something has to change. I'm Kathy, 47 and live in Mexico in Quintana Roo on the Caribbean coast. We have 4 kids (13, 12, 8 and 6) so you can imagine the weight I put on after each one. I've never dieted in my life and have always been a little chunky but always very fit and athletic. No more excuses; it is time to loose the weight. I'm finding the food journal to be EXCELLENT and I love the little challenges in this team! It is so easy to get caught up in the big picture but the little challenges allow you to tackle the big picture one little chunk at a time and before you know it, the big guy is gone.
So, 90kilos to start (2 weeks ago?) and I'm down to 87.5 as of today. I figure a year is good to get rid of 13 years of babymaking fat. :)
