Hi! I'm Suzie, and I'm new to the team. I joined May 13th (my son's 1st birthday), but I didn't really start using SP until June 1st. I started off slowly, but now I'm really finding my groove. I hope to be 135 lbs by my birthday 1/2/2009.

Hi - I'm Liesl and am one of those who didn't realize these class teams were out here! My goals here are really to maintain weight and improve tone. (Okay really improve tone in the middle. emoticon ) I've been doing okay with the fitness program (albeit not investing enough time, I'm sure) until life got in the way this past week. Struggling with time to get it done with everything else.

Try gradually increasing your water intake to 8 cups a day. It took me a week to get to the 8 cups a day.

I live in Salisbury MD, Eastern Shore. I have been here for 20 years. I came across this website looking for help in losing weight & gaining a healthy life style. I feel so much better since I have joined SparkPeople and started tracking my fitness
& weight. My biggest problem is drinking 8 glasses of water a day. I just can't
seem to get that goal. I am confused about what I do on the Spark Team as far as posting messages so could use some help with this.

Hi my name is Kathy. I have just been able to get started after all this time. I had some personal family problems which are ok now. I had a baby 13 1/2 mos ago and the last time I got weighed I was 157 lbs. I am not used to that. I have always been 115 to 120 lbs. So none of my clothes fit, but I am determined to loose weight and fit back into my clothes so I don't have to buy new ones. I have been checking out everything everyone has been doing so far and will be getting started today with some of those things. I hope to catch up soon and start to see a difference in my weight. With what I have heard about spark people, the encouragement that you get and support is great and gives you the initiative you need to keep going.

Hi Jen .. glad to have you here with us. Get involved with the message boards and reading other people's SparkPages and you will find motivation. It's a good idea to rethink the foods you are eating. If you are eating processed foods, try to cut those out .. also, fast foods. And in place, add fresh fruit and veggies. Lean meats, too, if you want them. And, don't forget to drink at least 8 cups of water a day! emoticon

Hi all!

I have been on Spark for a little over a month now. I did really well in the beginning, but my weight loss has stalled the past two weeks. I am hoping that I will get more motivated by joining some teams. I have been logging in my food, but now I think it is time to look at the kind of food I am eating.

Okay, I'm a dork! I thought I had introduced myself on here, but apparently not! LOL So - - here goes:

I am a 40 year old mother of 3 grandmother of 1 and all of them currently living at home, in addition to my disabled (cerebral palsy) but very functioning sister(helps out a LOT around my house!!), my husband and myself. So we are a full house with only 3 actual bedrooms!!

I have struggled with weight all my life, except when I was very seriously dancing (ballet) at 14-17, but a back injury ended that. So the weight has climbed since. This is the most I have ever weighed, even including pregnancy!! So I know that it is time to make a change, taht I owe myself, my children, my grandson and my husband to give this the attention I give other things. Looking forward to some healthy changes!!

Of all the things I've lost - - I miss my mind the most!!
With God all things are possible - - even weight loss.

HI! I just figured out they have these "class of" teams by seeing them on others' spark pages. So, I finally made a minute to look you up. I am ready to make a definite change. My brother almost died, in large part due to his unhealthy relationship with food, in April. That was a wake-up call for me. I want to live a long time. I am not going to be able to do that with my old lifestyle. I have 30-50 pounds to lose. I have had a love/hate relationship with food and exercise since I was 10. I need a change. Glad to be here.

Hi, and thank you for inviting me to join.

I am 41 year old single woman. My man friend and I have been together for 13 years off and on. (any sex and the city movie watcher...I only wish I could say my man friend was Mr. Big) I have been fighting being overweight my entire life. Right now, I am going through alot of changes in my life, and feel I am not giving my best to any of them.

Any help, suggestions are more than welcome. At this time I am not online at home. My computer is on the fritz, but I try to check in at least 1 or 2 or 40 times a day at work.

My husband and I started spark a couple weeks ago. We have been married for 12 years (it will be 12 next Thursday!) And we have one son who is 11.
We live in Colorado Springs.
I am enjoying the logistics of calorie counting so far. I am sure that sounds weird! But, I like the organization of it! I am sure that will go away with time though!
So far, in my first week I lost 2.8 lbs. I am pretty excited about that!

Hi,
I found the Sparks page two weeks ago, while looking for a calorie counter. I joined and have seen results. I was in a slump where exercising wasn't helping. I now realize that it's a lot of what I eat too, not just exercising.
I have been happily married for 9 years now (we celebrated our anniversary a week ago). I have 3 girls: Elizabeth is 6.5, Melissa is 5, and Rachel is 3. I am a stay at home mom. I also teach piano lessons to neighbor kids. I love to read, play music, crochet, and play with my kids. My husband is the Boy Scout Master in our area, and so that is a big part of our lives right now.
I'm excited about the challenges that are offered, and I do my best to complete them, I just forget to post them.

I am new to this program, but think it is great! I don't talk much at first, but I listen a lot! I live in the Hill Country in Texas where it is hot right now and very dry. I have tried all the online programs, but this is truly different. My husband says that I am always on a diet, and I told him to think what I would look like if I weren't!

Hi Everyone,
I found this site and have been exploring it for the past few days. I am so pleased to have found it. I will try to learn all of this posting stuff. I have never posted anything so please let me know if I am doing this correctly. I am using the food plan guide and I tried the bathroom wall push ups and find myself doing it every time. I like the paperclip idea too. I am hoping this becomes a lifestyle for me.

I've never been involved in a site like this before, but my mom and I are doing this together, so hopefully this will help me keep track of my exercise and diet. I really want to lose some weight for next year. It is going to be my first year at college and I really don't want to have to worry about gaining the dreaded Freshmen 15 (or 50 or whatever it is). I would rather lose the Freshman 15.
I have problems with sticking to a workout program for any period of time, but hopefully this can help me with that. :D

Hi my name is Deborah. I am a 33 year old from OR. I am a fitness instructor with 3 kids. I am trying to lose the weight from the last one (which is what I have to do after each one!) We have somewhere between 3-5 businesses that I help my husband run from home.

A friend clued me in to this sight and I absolutely love it! I love the food journal sight, ideas for exercise and new foods, and I love that I can plug my recipes in and get their nutritional info!

I know what you mean about having fibromyalgia (I have it, too) and about not wanting a diet. I can just think about a "diet" and it seems like my body shuts down and I don't lose any weight. That's what I like about SparkPeople ... it's about creating a new lifestyle .. a healthier one.

There is a lot of information here. Don't get overwhelmed by it all, just start slow with baby steps and build on them.

To help you get started, here are the top 10 recommendations:

1. Set up your nutrition and fitness programs
2. Read the SparkDiet overview.
3. Track the food you've eaten today.
4. Post a message on the Message Boards.
5. Get started on one of your FastBreak goals, and write them down where you will see them.
6. Set up your SparkPage.
7. Learn how to earn SparkPoints and join a SparkTeam.
8. Check out the articles and other helpful info in the Resource Centers.
9. Tell a friend about your goals (and about SparkPeople).
10. Visit SparkPeople WebSearch and make it your browser home page.

You may have already done some of these things, but if you need help with any of them, just ask.

Hi All!

My name is Robin. I am a 41yr old disabled female from TN. I have a wonderful new husband of 3 1/2yrs, and 2 grown children...a son 21 and a daughter 20.

I am looking to lose weight to be healthy for myself and my family. NOT looking for a diet, been there done that. LOL I have fibromyalgia, dont want it to have me! Losing weight will not only make me look great, but will help me with this disability by not having extra pounds to carry around.
