I am a high school science teacher east of Seattle. I just started SP mid July and all ready feel and see the improvements with my body. I am currently 31 and am hoping to lose weight to get healthier and to help improve my chances of conceiving a baby. My husband and I have been trying from about 2.5 years, with no luck. I think that my weight and his, have played a factor in us not being able to have children. I introduced him to the site and he has since started (2 weeks in) and he has lost 7 lbs so far.

Hi all,

I just found this team and like what I have been reading. I am Molly. I work as a CVT at MCAS in Troutdale and also have a PT job at a private clinic. I live ( and grew up) in NE Portland.
I have been with SP since 1/2010 and I'm still finding my way around. emoticon

emoticon Hey Girls! I've been M.I.A. and it seems the team has grown dramatically while I was away. I would love to know a little bit about each of you.

My name is Sharmel, but I go by Mel. I'm 24 years old. A licensed Massage Therapist currently working in downtown portland. I joined Sparkpeople in March of 2008.Started out at 263lbs, lost 30lbs off of that. Here I am September, 2009; I haven't lost anymore weight, but have gained 20lbs back. Yo yoing is very frustrating. I've struggled with my weight throughout this process and before of course. I take sole responsibility for that. SP is a GREAT website and I'm grateful to have this community.

For fun I like to hang out with friends and family, watch movies, read, meet new people, and dance. I like to go for walks, but not so much when it's wet out. I love the rain when I'm not actually in it.
I love to workout as's the mentally preparing myself prior to the workout that puts me off track.

So that's a little bit about myself. Let me know about you!!!
