Hi I've been working with SparkPeople for a couple of months now. I've been working on trying to grow food on my balcony for a few years and a few apartments and have some successes and some failures. I figure a failure is a learning experience. I have a south facing balcony so I can grow many things in pots. I do tomatoes every year. I am doing herbs, learning to do them in separate pots... Chives try, but fail in my pots, hopefully they'll grow if they're in their own pot. I will be doing beans, peas and cucumbers again this year. I'm gaining new items for my garden every year and hopefully this warm spring will end up giving me a longer growing season this year, last year my colored sweet peppers never turned. I may or may not do peppers again this year.
I've tried strawberries and failed, I can't get them to go through the next year, they always die when I have to bring them in. I give up on doing strawberries until I have a house and plot of land to grow them.
